Not quite the same. Well I was joking about the random win it got but congrats to EEAAO

Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 The fact that people thought Lydia Tar is a real person is a testament of how talented Cate is The people have spoken. Give Cate Blanchett her third overdue Oscar win
nostalgia Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 The W.E. actress getting her payola flowers
WildAmerican Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 can't believe Angela Bassett is happening, she's so overdue and deserves this moment
fridayteenage Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Last Emperor: 0 acting noms Crouching Tiger: 0 acting noms Slumdog Millionaire: 0 acting noms Parasite: 0 acting noms Let's change that narrative and give Yeoh an Oscar, industry!

Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Ngl, Tang Wei delivers better performance than Yeoh, but too bad her movie has visibility issue

Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Anyway Yeoh will make history as the First Asian to be nominated for Best Actress. Unless you count Vivien Leigh as Asian

Dr. Alexander Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Will it be wrong for me to say that Angela will take the Oscar?

Mahershala Ali, Moonlight Mahershala Ali, Green Book Daniel Kaluuya, Judas and the Black Messiah
Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Users on goldderby are still convinced Yeoh will win over Blanchett They are the same users who predicted Mulligan to win last time.
hausofdave Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 Just now, fridayteenage said: again, i can't tell if you're high or trolling or what. Mahershala Ali, Moonlight Mahershala Ali, Green Book Daniel Kaluuya, Judas and the Black Messiah and when was the last supporting actor asian win?
fridayteenage Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 just take the L, you were wrong in saying "last POC win for BSA: Haing Ngor (1985)." i'm done with this.
family.guy123 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 After watching to Leslie and this whole thing feels fraudulent now. Thought it was going to be grittier. Still hope she gets the nomination though. She was mostly good.
Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Finally she's winning her third overdue Oscar after being ROBBED at gunpoint for Elizabeth
Alyssa Edwards Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 I want Miss De Armas to land her first Lead Actress nomination. Imagine watching both movies and thinking Michelle Williams deserves it more for The Fabelmans
Feanor Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 I wish Cate had won her first Oscar for Elizabeth instead of her relatively forgotten performance in The Aviator. Elizabeth, Blue Jasmine & TÁR would have probably been the most impressive lineup of wins ever for any triple Oscar winner (if she ofc even wins for TÁR).
