Kylizzle Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) I would be happy with all of these being the Oscar choices too ngl (besides Glass Onion) Congratss EEAAO Edited January 16, 2023 by Kylizzle
bluevelvetcrowbar Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Not all the men involved in EEAAO most likely getting their flowers while all the women are probably gonna come up short still rooting for Yeoh
Kylizzle Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Why did they try to play them off after like 1 minute
fridayteenage Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 this should be her campaign against that cat person
CaptainMusic Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Looks like Cate is gonna probably win, they loved EEAAO but couldn’t give Michelle the win? SMH Again the Oscars about to award a white woman a 3rd Oscar over a woman of colour getting her first smh.
Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) It's over. Congrats Legend Cate for your third Oscar and soon you will win the fourth one Edited January 16, 2023 by Donquizote edit
Blue Monday Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 (edited) The meltdowns in here there's still time for things to change. Critic's Choice is not very predictive of Oscar; they're really only useful for determining what has broad(er) appeal, but even in trying to predict the Oscars they come up short. SAG and BAFTA are much more predictive. Edited January 16, 2023 by Blue Monday
Cloröx Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Naatu Naatu definitely will win Best Song, poor Gaga and Rih
GraceRandolph Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 I hope we don’t miss out on a historic BA win (Michelle Yeoh) so they can give Cate a third in just a decade since her last win.

Carey and Natalie deserved, but tea. I feel like SAG might shake things up; Bafta has been going their own way for the last few years so that should be interesting at least.
Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Carey, Gaga, and Natalie didn't win Globes
Kylizzle Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Performance quality >>> narrative Love Michelle and Cate's performances but I wouldn't call either winning a robbery
enchanted0 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 First of all, we’re rooting for Yeoh and the second, that Andrea Riseborough “compaign” is ridiculous af but I found out she’s that actress in Possessor.. maybe I’m here for it
bluevelvetcrowbar Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Can they sneak Michelle and Stephanie producer credits for EEAAO so we can increase their chances of getting something fnfjfkdkd
Cloröx Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 I hate biography film, the actor winning for their roles is so cliche, uninspiring. That being said #YeohOscar2023
hausofdave Posted January 16, 2023 Author Posted January 16, 2023 Trifecta (for a second time in her career) + Volpi Cup + Golden Globe & Critics Choice, whew mother clearing a third trophy soon finally joining the ranks of Hepburn & McDormand
Donquizote Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Best Actress prediction post CCA: Cate Blanchett (WIN) Michelle Yeoh (Locked) Michelle Williams (Shaky and borderline snub) Danielle Deadwyler (Passion votes) Andrea RISEborough (WTF nomination this year)

They didn’t win Globes and their films weren’t as awarded as EEAAO. The Critics Choice Awards are usually sheep and should’ve gone for Michelle, one of her disadvantages is that her movie has many other categories they can award whereas Cate is the only place Tar will win. Hopefully she wins SAG but Viola won twice there and still lost. - Andrea Riseborough seems to be happening

Not quite the same.
