wehan6 Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 i really hope voters keep white michelle in lead. if not she's probably gonna take hong's or stephanie's place
hausofdave Posted January 12, 2023 Author Posted January 12, 2023 hopefully Top Gun pulls thru w the PGA win
Kylizzle Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 How did Babylon get recognized for best period costuming? The wardrobe was a mess
Riot Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 The Woman King missed SAG ensemble and PGA. Don't be surprised when Viola Davis' name won't be announced while they're reading the nominees.
Donquizote Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Don't understand the hype for Viola. Deadwyler deserves to get nominated than Viola.
hausofdave Posted January 13, 2023 Author Posted January 13, 2023 if Viola misses BAFTA she’ll def be the snub, SAG doesn’t really help since they practically worship her feet
Green Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 6 hours ago, Riot said: So apparently Michelle Williams switched to supporting OMG is this true? It's too late though. Now she doesn't have a televised precursor with a Supporting nomination so it will be useless and she could be snubbed because of the category confusion placement Also if Angela wins SAG she will easily be the frontrunner.
Green Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I read on Goldderby that some members of the acting branch see White Michelle's role as a Supporting (that's why that predictor Clayton Davis is placing her for Supporting now). And Goldderby added her for the Supporting predictions too just in case

fridayteenage Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Yeoh will avenge: multiple-oscar-winning Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon being robbed of a directing win, and of any acting noms (alongside the likes of last emperor/slumdog millionaire/parasite). multiple-oscar-winning Memoirs of a Geisha being robbed of our 1st out-Asian lead actress nom. Golden Globe and Sag and Producers Guild nominee Crazy Rich Asians being robbed of any Oscar noms.

Coma Baby Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Let’s take a minute to appreciate this truly outstanding and overlooked performance by a supporting actress in a sci-fi franchise that Angela Bassinet (who already has one Oscar nom too many) could never deliver because she lacks the RANGE.

Leptine Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 They shouldn't allow actors to switch category in the middle of the race, they need to take the risk until the end at the expense of not getting nominated.

State of Grace. Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 As someone who has been rooting for White Michelle to win an Oscar for years, I hope she completely misses the nom in both categories. This category fraud was not it and she should have went for Supporting from the beginning because her win was locked. Now she might punch out Hsu and stop Bassett from winning.
fridayteenage Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 (edited) It's not fraud 🧙 Mary Tyler moore was in 26 percent of very comparable film ordinary people and got in lead. Michelle has like 35 percent Edited January 13, 2023 by fridayteenage
