Exactly. The hate against JLC is ridiculous. Both will probably be nominated and neither will probably win so what's the point of this hate.

Let Jamie to get her first nomination, she's deserving and overdue and she's second when it comes to critics support, so she's not stealing any place from anyone:

SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Top Nominees Wins 2nd Place Nominations Points
1 Kerry Condon
The Banshees of Inisherin
13 2 16 59
2 Jamie Lee Curtis
Everything Everywhere All at Once
5 0 16 31
3 Janelle Monae
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
5 1 13 30
  Stephanie Hsu
Everything Everywhere All at Once
4 3 12 30
5 Angela Bassett
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
2 1 14 22
6 Hong Chau
The Whale
1 2 12 19

I mean ppl are free to dislike her and be annoyed she's getting in over their faves but some of the commentary is very odd/dumb/mean

Steven made it into the DGA field. So he still may have a shot at the Oscar again but I'm still pulling for the Daniels.

Will be very surprised if Kosinski makes it into the Oscar field though.

I.E. a bad look having NO females in the director field. Sarah Polley should have been nominated for Women Talking.

the enthusiasm for women talking has been muted.

the top 5 best pictures on the awards scoreboard are the 5 dga noms.

Here for Ana De Over getting these noms so she can keep losing

Prepare to sink the entire award season into irrelevancy if they will continue to ignore films that the GP watch. They're clearly are sabotaging Cameron, look at that DGA lineup and he doesn't make it? :biblionny:

well, not dga, but ampas snubbed 2 towers for directing. maybe they feel a minimal amount of urgency to nominate part 2 of a 5 part saga, for a guy who already has an oscar

Avatar has been getting snubbed left and right. Cameron missed both DGA and BAFTA, the movie has been underperforming with BAFTA and the Guilds

The first Avatar, which was great, wasn't exactly warmly received by guids and academy.

So "The Way of Water", which was really meh compared to first, is received even worse.

I doubt it will win Oscar for anything but visual effects.

De Armas getting into SAG omg:bibliahh: I shouldn't be very surprised since they love Netflix but it's a kii how many people wrote her off and she's still in the race. I'm kinda rooting for Ana because she deserves this despite everything about the movie being garbage.

Wonder if Margod still can sneak into the lineup on nominations morning :lakitu:

They better give Michelle Yeoh aka badass Georgiou that Oscar.

EEAAO deserves to win literally all nominations it gets. :wanda:

no one cares about Avatar 2 lol

With Netflix streaming SAG live, I would've thought they would throw an ensemble nomination for Glass Onion but I guess not.

Avatar 2 is an amazing blockbuster movie. Has some murky choices in the 2nd half, but it’s a steady film and a cinematic achievement.

With that being said, it’s not getting ‘snubbed’ as that would imply it’d be a deserved nominee/honoree. It is not.

So happy for Ana. :duca:

In a perfect world, Zar, Ana, Tang Wei and Mia Goth should all be nominated for Oscar :jonny5:

The way my Margot missing SAG/BAFTA premonition came true :jonnycat:

She's so dead for Best Actress. And while it's not 100% impossible for her to get that 5th spot, she has nothing going for her.
