X~MoviePoP Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 The woman king snubbed for ensemble is horrible
Digitalism Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 As regards the SAG nominations: Adam Sandler is proof that it doesn't matter how basic your performance is if you are a famous working actor that campaigns like crazy you will get a nom. Same goes to JLC tbh Hopefully Angela will win everything so JLC can rot That supporting actress category is perfect. I would have changed JLC for Dolly de Leon. But Hollywood won't have 3 asian actresses being nominated I find Eddie getting so many noms weird. It's weird that they moved the White lotus to Drama instead of Limited series. That's going to ruin Coolidge chances

That's going to ruin Coolidge chances I genuinely think she & The White Lotus would have been better placed in Comedy series. Could be an indication for how they'll place it at the Emmys because it could fit in either category (but works better as a comedy, to be honest).

Dark Miracles Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Wait people actually thought Top Gun was gonna get a SAG Ensemble nod?

I understand why that's frustrating, because Stephanie was outstanding, but why attack JLC over other people's actions?

Not to mention that this is literally how awards season has worked from the beginning of time people vote for their friends. Especially the actors branch (aka SAG)
wesleywalrus Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Hsu nominated for SAG lowkey hurts her Oscar nom chances
fridayteenage Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) 6 super viable possibilities for lead actress. and then 4 seeming-locks for lead actor, and you can throw a dart to see who the weak 5th nominee is. pope/jackman globe, cruise/mescal bfca, sandler sag. 1 minute ago, wesleywalrus said: Hsu nominated for SAG lowkey hurts her Oscar nom chances Edited January 11, 2023 by fridayteenage

If I'm being real I don't think JLC is a good actress and her taking Hsu's shine just makes it worse Honestly I have never seen her in a good role. And she is only getting this because she is the only white person in the movie
okgo Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 People have been so weird towards JLC on social media when she’s literally been campaigning for the rest of the cast just as much if not more than herself hopefully now that Stephanie is getting more attention again and Angela’s become a clearer frontrunner they’ll quit being so miserable. I’m glad she’s out there living her best life
fridayteenage Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 2007-2015 had zero visibly asian acting nominees. so please stop having meltdowns when we struggle in general and it's not helping. there are still 3 viable asian nominees in the same category, and even having 2 asian actresses nominated at all in 1 year is record breaking (with yeoh obviously being a lock already).
Into The Void Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 watching The Good Nurse has anyone seen it and is it any good?
Into The Void Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 what is available on streaming for free?
Hector Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) Steven made it into the DGA field. So he still may have a shot at the Oscar again but I'm still pulling for the Daniels. Will be very surprised if Kosinski makes it into the Oscar field though. I.E. a bad look having NO females in the director field. Sarah Polley should have been nominated for Women Talking. All four actors are either locks for nominations, or in for a very good chance. I'm confused what her race has to do with anything.

Let Jamie to get her first nomination, she's deserving and overdue and she's second when it comes to critics support, so she's not stealing any place from anyone: SUPPORTING ACTRESS Top Nominees Wins 2nd Place Nominations Points 1 Kerry Condon The Banshees of Inisherin 13 2 16 59 2 Jamie Lee Curtis Everything Everywhere All at Once 5 0 16 31 3 Janelle Monae Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery 5 1 13 30 Stephanie Hsu Everything Everywhere All at Once 4 3 12 30 5 Angela Bassett Black Panther: Wakanda Forever 2 1 14 22 6 Hong Chau The Whale 1 2 12 19
