Green Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Babylon and Women Talking nominated for Ensemble and flopping everywhere else
hausofdave Posted January 11, 2023 Author Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) De Armas & Sander getting in fifth slot the day SAG announces move to Netflix hmm Edited January 11, 2023 by hausofdave
fridayteenage Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 surprises: adam sandler. i mean it feels like a sag-y thing to do, but tbh i can't even remember what movie he did michelle williams OUT also nice to see 1 crown individual nom i believe?
Hector Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 (edited) Also most surprising thing about the nominations is that they classified The White Lotus as a drama with Jennifer Coolidge getting nominated for Best Drama Actress and the series getting nominated for Best Drama Ensemble Cast. I'd have placed it in Comedy. Edited January 11, 2023 by Hector
Riot Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Get ready for Academy Award nominee Ana de Armas Move over, white Michelle Williams

Green Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Michelle Williams going from frontrunner in Supporting to snubbed in Lead And Paul Dano made it in Supporting and The Fabelmans for Cast. So there's support for the film. She was in the wrong category after all.
kandicha Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 WAIT how did I not notice Michelle Williams was out I kinda doubt she will get in at BAFTA so she might be in danger
Hector Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Just now, McNulty said: and also Eddie. I didn't know he's a thing Having watched The Good Nurse, he's way more of a lead than he is supporting which is odd he's placed in all of those categories this year.
McNulty Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 So BP is a three-way race between Banshees, EEAAO and The Fabelmans with Fabelmans having an edge, also Top Gun is probably dead
kandicha Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 3 minutes ago, McNulty said: and also Eddie. I didn't know he's a thing Jessica Chastain is on the BAFTA long list despite not being someone the jury would save (since she's not British or a POC) so The Good Nurse is definitely more of a thing than people thought... might not be enough for Jessica since Best Actress is so stacked, but it might be enough for Eddie since Best Supporting Actor is empty in comparison
Green Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Ana getting this important nomination after Blonde got all those Razzie nominations
EnigmaticAndroid Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Damn, Top Gun missed for Cruise and Ensemble. Should've been pretty easy too.
Gui Blackout Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Netflix really bought themselves into it the Emily in Paris chick presenting, Anna and Adam snuck in
Gui Blackout Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Paul Mescal and Aftersun's snubs are so upsetting. By far one of the best and most acclaimed performances/movies of the year and... nothing. I blame A24, they focused on EEAAO and the Whale and forgot about it

zoldyck Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I won't be shocked if Margot pulls a Kristen and Ana pulls Gaga, this year. Although both seems out in favor of Viola, Michelle and Danielle
hausofdave Posted January 11, 2023 Author Posted January 11, 2023 Banshees vs. EEAAO for the win. Fabelmans, Elvis, and Top Gun in the top five locked for a nom, potential upset to win.
