You know what... I'm on board with JLC's campaign for an Oscar nomination if it will coax the old voters to get on the EEAAO train.

Honestly the whole cast deserves respect for signing up for such a big risk of a movie

to be fair, due to asian racism, it's not like anyone knew most of the cast.

and michelle yeoh had never gotten to lead any US film.

so not really a risk given their dearth of opportunities.

Yeah so far this season has been pretty meh, it’s either EEAAO or Banshes taking over everything and then several flops and panned films that were supposed to be season darlings.

She said is getting released this weekend in my country but I guess I’ll wait until I catch it on streaming because it’s not getting noise for the big awards and the reviews are pretty meh also I don’t want to support Pitt’s film, has anyone in here seen the film?

I have !

Good score, ok acting (Peter Friedman is best in show for me), you do know where it's going but there's still some stake.

It does feel like a movie i've seen before though.

I agree with this. Carey carries the movie and Samantha Morton is a powerhouse in the scene she shows up in. There's a lot of chilling scenes but it's overall very straightforward and by the books. I would even say it has a TV movie quality to it nn but I liked it.
