how click-bait-y of this contrarian :coffee2:

If not clickbaity and actually credible, and it does end up happening, we would know the Globes are still corrupted and easily bought.

“I, Tonya” as Tonya Harding in the infamous figure-skating American scandal. (...) The quality may have been there, but perhaps the film was too clever and post-modern to have the stature of a Best Actress-winning role.

what is he even talking about :ahh: in the following sentence saying Allison Janney had actually won :rip:

I never take him seriously as award pundit though :dies:

Paramount spent 80M to campaign for Babylon :rip: Perhaps they were expecting another La La Land success from Chazelle.

I'm sure they will stop the campaign for that movie after seeing the box office result.

should've put all the budget into Top Gun (which they'll probably do now atp)

Just watched Triangle of Sadness last night. I'm really rooting for Dolly de Leon this season in Best Supporting Actress, although I also really loved Kerry Condon in Banshees as well

imagine the backlash if the Golden Globes went away for a year promising to reform, only to come back and reward Margot Robbie over Michelle Yeoh. :deadbanana2: even if the Golden Globes did something like that, i doubt SAG/BAFTA/Oscars would follow.

Dolly and Kerry are my favorite Best Supporting Actress candidates as well. they were both so good.

You can never really count out that the Globes pull some wacky ****, but Michelle Yeoh is a bigger international star than Margot Robbie and the Globes are made up of international journalists so I don't know that I totally buy Margot winning.

Yeah out of all the contenders I've seen they're easily the best of their field, and with true supporting performances as well!

From the movies i've seen, Best Supporting Actress is weak af.

I'll see what Women Talking and The Whale are giving but so far it's kinda meh. Maybe i'd give it to Stephanie Hsu but i'm not wow'ed either.

Having to put in Jamie Lee Curtis to fill up the list is embarassing.

I still have quite a few contenders I need to watch but I honestly don't think anything will top Banshees for me. Rooting for Colin and Kerry to go all the way.

Same for me, i'm open to it of course but Banshees is that b!tch for me so far. It's so good. :chick1:

Kerry was just fine for me tho, there could have been dozens and dozens of actresses who would have done a better job than her. I didn't care that much for her performance.

Colin on the other hand was wonderful.

Has anyone seen Bullet Train or Moonfall and is it any good?

Emma Thompson has had a banner year this year :jonny5:

From Good Luck Leo Grande to Matilda, she really blew me away. She should get nominated for BSA for Matilda. :jonny5:

Hoping for her to win another Oscar soon.

Nicole Kidman lowkey deserves a nomination for BSA for The Northman

I've seen Moonfall and couldn't finish it, it was really bad.

Haven't seen Bullet Train but don't think that one is a contender for anything?

Haven't seen Bullet Train but heard mixed things. Most people I know thought it was just ok

Moonfall is absolutely bonkers and perfect if you wanna open a bottle of wine and watch a camp mess.
