No EEAAO in VFX hmmm

Decision To Leave, Bones and All, and Blonde missing Score is a bummer

RRR, on the other hand, missing Score, Sound and VFX is not a good look.

EEAAO missing VFX is tragic. That branch is TASTELESS AF since Ex Machina won the category. Gross.

Why is nobody talking about Ana de Armas making it into the London Film Critics? :gaycat7:

She was nominated for the AACTA too, she has more international support than expected

OK @ Krieps getting in with London. Hopefully that BAFTA nom is coming too

I think Ana is being underestimated.

I will not be surprised if she got nominatd.

Nnnnnn i saw that and was thinking the same as well. I see a (small but non zero) chance of her winning at the Golden Globes because it’s the kind of performance the Globes loves. I am less sure about SAG and BAFTA nominations but if she got in at London film critics she has a decent chance at a BAFTA nomination too. And then… :gaycat7:

Margot Robbie truly is box office poison, my gawd. :rip: And then you see Film Twitter crying and saying nobody should replace her as Harley when the real general public doesn't give a sh+t about her. Crazy.

As she should. Ana truly deserved better than that shite.

I think people wrote her off as DOA way too early. But I'm afraid she would sneak in over a more deserving actress/film.

Yeah it seems like the Academy is becoming afraid of being called "out of touch snobs" by the GP that watches like 2 movies a year

I could see Top Gun: Maverick or Banshees of Inisherin tbh. The Fabelmans in third place probably.

Yeoh and Blanchett are lock.

Michelle Williams will be nominated because her film is strong.

Then we have Deadwyler who will get nominated based on passion votes.

5th spots is still wide open.

I'm thinking it will be Ackie, Colman, De Armas, and someone unexpected like Tang Wei.

I want to predict Margot but I don't think she'll get nominated for that bombed movie :rip:

the trend has been for something new, something different to prevail.

not a sequel to an oscar winning action film, or the follow up to a movie with 2 acting oscars, or steven.

the horror if two movies with mediocre/bad reviews triumph over Black Excellence for Best Actress noms.

I agree with you about Best Actress. Really praying for Danielle Deadwyler to pull through, especially, but she seems to be getting such good word of mouth reviews from Academy members that I’m feeling more confident she’ll get there in the end.

Babylon being a huge ensemble cast, filled with numerous huge male names and ATRL blames its box office underperformance on the female lead. :rip: Shocker.

Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance With Somebody at 41% on Rotten Tomatoes. Poor Whitney, she deserved better than a biopic that looks like it'll be ready for Razzie noms next year. :weeps:
