Idk what the f*ck is the deal with this RRR bullsh!t but i watched it a couple weeks ago and it was a blend of terribly bad and also so big that the director (strictly him) deserves some praise, simply for the massive scope of the film he made. But some praise online and in magazines would suffice.

It's still mostly horrible like.. I'm so confused ? It's overly long, it's very badly acted, the visual effects are very laughable at times. It's a blend of corny and gore too.

It's weird but in a bad way.

Legend Cate now has 10 wins with critics groups. I think she can tie Legend Frances with 24 (for Nomadland)

Perhaps Cate will win NSFC.

Or they might go for Tang Wei or Zehra. This is the last chance for these two to win major critic awards :jonny5:

RRR is an overrated mess :toofunny3:

Don't get the hype of that movie though :toofunny3:

$18M is not bad compared to Tár, Women Talking, Fabelmans or Inisheerin that have made that in weeks.

Yeah RRR is just good because it’s that bad and corny, some visuals were good but some were not that polished, the script was like a soap opera and the acting meh, I doubt that they will award it with BP or Director and it was not submitted to Int. Film; the director is exploiting the fame and doing a sequel.

but they all have much better reviews to make up for their anemic box office

With production budget of 100M, I think it is bad :toofunny2:

This year we have huge blockbusters aiming for BP making up for it, never in history 2 films that made over a 1B have been nominated in that category.

Posted

eh. obviously due to inflation/rising global markets, billion dollars is just a 21stc thing, with the sole exception of titanic, so doesn't say much.

more impressive to me are years of 5 with blockbusters that aren't just franchise sequels, like in the 80s:

1981: #1 raiders of the lost ark

#2 on golden pond

(#7 chariots of fire)

1982: #1 et

#2 tootsie

1985: #4 color purple

#5 out of africa

(#8 witness)

1987: #2 fatal attraction

#5 moonstruck

1990: #2 ghost

#3 dances with wolves

Let's be honest, EEAAO and RRR are cringefests. :santa:

never got the RRR hype, still see it missing BP slot nomination morning
