You clearly didn't even get the point my argument, this is not about dismissing a supporting acting Oscar, it's about career choices and path. The stupidest thing I've read this day is claiming that Gaga will go support when there's no even elements for saying that, especially when the title of the movie couldn't be more clear about it, not to mention the first teaser. And yes there is such a thing like establish yourself as leading actor in order to book roles, you don't see Leonardo di Caprio or Tom Cruise (just to make a few examples) booking support roles these days, Gaga is a global superstar that proved to have box office power and she obviously will follow the path of booking lead acting roles-projects, considering she is in a position of choosing what to do since she's not a full time actress, that's my point.
wesleywalrus Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 I don't really understand why the Academy and the awards circuit in general is shying away from celebrating younger actors. Anna Paquin, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Haley Joel Osment, etc. How are you going to nominate Paul Mescal but not Frankie Corio who was much better? Gabriel LaBelle 100% deserved to be in the running this year. Saying they'll have an easy job finding work again is not the recognition they should be receiving.
