State of Grace. Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 The Son, Bardo, Empire of Light and The Whale all getting meh reviews/pans is still so hilarious to me because they were all considered big contenders I was rooting for Ana de Armas to be Kristen'd but most critics will rally behind Yeoh. Blonde doesn't sound like the type of movie that the Academy likes either so I don't see her making it, maybe she'll snatch some critics wins / precursors nods if she's lucky.
fridayteenage Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 the whale feels like a lock for a lead actor nom regardless. early 94 on imdb.
State of Grace. Posted September 11, 2022 Posted September 11, 2022 Brendan Fraser deserves a win I don't trust the reviews though, Daddy Aronofsky does no wrong!

Gui Blackout Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Nothing but respect for MY Oscar winners!
Green Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Is Michelle Williams getting some serious Oscar hype? Let her finally win please. I just hope she doesn't get the Manchester By The Sea treatment. Early frontrunner only to lose in the end because Viola changed her category placement.

period sis Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Is there a thread to discuss Emmys? or does that happen here?

Wish Jamie could get in supporting but very unlikely.
Wicked Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Wish the Brenaissance was with a comedy film instead of The Whale. I know that movie is a mess.

Diarrhoea Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Got LFF tickets to see Nanny, White Noise, Holy Spider, Close, Triangle of Sadness, and The Whale feel like I'll regret not seeing Knives Out 2 but I only watched the first one once and didn't care for it probably because it was cam-quality would've seen Banshees too but it's out a week later here anyway and that'll be cheaper
Donquizote Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Oscar winner Legend Michelle Williams. The concept. She should have won for this scene alone
Donquizote Posted September 13, 2022 Posted September 13, 2022 Babylon trailer dropped. Trailer looks meh, but I'm holding my judgement till the movie drops. There's no way Robbie will win BA for that role. She looks ok, but did nothing to me in the trailer. Blanchett will sweep everything
