fridayteenage Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 but it would be the first 3x acting winner that also got best picture (or even best director), unlike the other two times

family.guy123 Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 What a speech! If I’m not mistaken one of few performers to win two Oscars before the age of 30!
Dark Phoenix Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Went to see Women Talking yesterday and what a bore fest and the color grading in those gray tones were an act of misogyny because it made the film look lifeless and dull I’m surprised now that it got a BP nom. I hate also how AQOTWF is getting so much traction because it overshadows great and more interesting films like the Argentina 1985 or Close and even Corsage. I’m ready for this cycle to be over and move on to the 2023 era.
Blade Runner Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) https://www.metacritic.com/feature/film-awards-and-nominations-scorecard Michelle now being the scoreboard leader of the year out of all lead acting contenders. Truly the best performance of the season. Undeniable! Edited March 7, 2023 by Blade Runner
Riot Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Jei Mi Li receiving an Oscar for her performance in EEAO would still be be better than whatever Laura Dern did in Marriage Story
Brando Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Does Aftersun get any better? I'm 20 mins in and it's just random/boring ass clips without any coherent story so far...

That's the whole concept of the movie, fading memories or the unreliable nature of memory. We follow the memories of a little girl on holiday with her father. It's very simple and random. I'm not goin to spoil it for you but at the very end it might pay off or not for you. Personally I wasn't bored from the beginning because I always find any relationship between a father and his little girl to be incredibly endearing so I was hooked from the get-go. But I can understand why someone could find the majority of the movie to be aimless.
hausofdave Posted March 7, 2023 Author Posted March 7, 2023 sharing an article which doesn’t show respect to Blanchett, whom supported her all along the award season is not very cool

Everyone coming for Jei Mi with their nepobaby bullshit when Laura Dern is also a nepobaby and she didn't get the same hate with her career win.

Thickorita Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 Jei Mi Li is the funniest thing I've seen on ATRL since like 2019. Makes me cackle every time

hausofdave Posted March 7, 2023 Author Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) #FrancesFisher #MaryMcCormack #MichelleYeoh the overall topic of the article stated an important subject but that specific screenshot is basically saying don’t vote for Cate because she already has two. Yeoh shouldn’t have posted that part. like what petty move did Cate do to deserve this whom has been nothing but lovely to her, praising her performance throughout Edited March 7, 2023 by hausofdave
Leptine Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 I'm sure Yeoh meant to post that with no harm but definitely kind of tasteless posting that article.
CaptainMusic Posted March 7, 2023 Posted March 7, 2023 (edited) Yawn Michelle is the first fully Asian woman to ever be nominated for Best Actress (a tragic stat) she has a right to campaign how she feels for the win when she knows she could lose to a white actress who already has 2 Oscars.
