Blade Runner Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Breaking records at ISA and breaking records at SAG. Oscars next? 4 or 5 above the line wins? AAAHHHHHH, the little movie that could.
Hector Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 What an incredible night, EEAAO already an all time great Genuinely hope this helps Legend Yeoh get closer to the Oscar Though I'm also prepared for a Glenn Close-Olivia Colman situation again.

D/X Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 At this point I'm taking all of Daniels' EEAAO awards as if they are winning for the best music video ever made. Stephanie's speech was amazing, I shed a tear. I know she doesn't stand a chance, but it would be amazing if she won the Oscar.
Blade Runner Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Mother will prevail and the usuals will remain pressed.

Soup in Teapot Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 A clean EEAAO sweep is all we need for the Oscar night.

wehan6 Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 i can't believe michelle might do it if she loses my gay ass is literally gonna start crying
CaptainMusic Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) I absolutely hate the idea of gender neutral acting categories, it’s so unnecessary and sounds good in theory but while Michelle rightfully won, it will make it harder for WOC to win in the future. Edited March 5, 2023 by CaptainMusic

family.guy123 Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Does anybody know the overlap between ISA and AMPAS voters? I believe anybody who pays for a membership can vote for the Indies. My friend who is not in the industry at all voted. Thank you.

That's why they don't really matter that much although they are helpful for gauging what film fans are into.
Dr. Alexander Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I just finished watching Triangle of Sadness. It was such a great film! Dolly De Lon should’ve been nominated for Best Supporting Actress instead of Jamie Lee at the Oscars. I have no idea how that happened. Dolly deserved. But, what has offset this new style of film where wealthier white people are being truthfully shown as entitled, out of touch, and racist? I mean we had White Lotus, The Menu, and now Triangle of Sadness. What is this trend?
RunBoyRun Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 A tie hardly ever happens but I would love it so much if best actress had one this year.

Dark Miracles Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Honestly I'm a little shocked Tar and EEAAO even qualify as indie films
Enrique523 Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) I swear i cannot take seriously people hating EEAAO, i understand it's not for everyone but it's an objectively great film, there's a reason it has resonated with so many people. Edited March 5, 2023 by Enrique523
