hausofdave Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 if there's one acting category who gravitates towards ingenues, it's this one. So that might even bode well for Condon.

hausofdave Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 doesn't help when there's two correlating "overdue" narratives that would arguably split votes, plus its expected to have a good chunk of int votes rally behind Condon. She’s in the most traditional contender of the bunch, likely go the Rylance/Swinton/Arkin path. The BAFTA winner who is in a BP nominated film winning

Yeah, it's typically the place where veterans get their due- Janney, Davis, Arquette, King, Dern, Yuh-jung, Leo, Swinton, Spencer, etc.

Both acting ICONS who deserve their moment of shine….but I truly don’t know who will win it. My gut says Angela pulls through I love both. But JLC filmography is much much more iconic than AB.

Riot Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 I always forget that Frances McDormand is also a nominee this year... somehow she always stays here!
Kylizzle Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 I'm not seeing it for Condon. I think the BAFTA supporting wins were an anomaly and won't happen again.
futurenostalgic Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 yall what is the precedence for a surprise Farrell win

Kylizzle Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 The way Legend McDormand could have secured a Dench'd nomination for BSA if the Women Talking campaign wasn't fumbled so badly. She's in about 2 minutes of the movie but her stare at the end of the movie is so haunting and says so much without words.

But I think It's really 50/50 for Butler or Fraser by this point. Edited March 3, 2023 by Hector
Hector Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 (edited) But wow, what a moment the 2003 Oscars really were Even if it was Weinstein'd, I love Chicago as a Best Picture winner Edited March 3, 2023 by Hector

She had to re learn piano, basically how to construct an orchestra, learn a language, not to mention the rehearsal and process to get into the character and do the film was a lot longer than Michelle's. They both did a LOT for their roles but let's not be delusional.
