The first act was fantastic, the dinner/puking/sh+tting sequence was so, so funny, and Dolly was incredible, but it goes downhill after that. The Menu, Glass Onion and this were massively overrated. The White Lotus for sure won the rich vs. working class conversation.

She gets so much more exposure than the other nominees it's almost unfair. it's not Jié Mi Li's fault she's a relatable legend. queen of selling yogurt that makes you **** did that!

Fire of Love was also really good. I didn't really like All That Breathes, it wasn't bad but I found it incredibly boring. Splinters is the next I want to watch. Thanks!
hausofdave Posted March 1, 2023 Author Posted March 1, 2023 Fraser is so well liked, more so than I thought and his performance is Oscar catnip. I might go with him in the end. Butler looks so young and Elvis didn't become the phenomenon that BR was.
Riot Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Ceremony Year Film Best Actor Best Actress Best Supporting Actor Best Supporting Actress 24th 1951 A Streetcar Named Desire — Vivien Leigh Karl Malden Kim Hunter 49th 1976 Network Peter Finch Faye Dunaway — Beatrice Straight I didn't realize that only 2 films won three acting awards. I don't think that EEAO will be the third, but let's hope that the Academy will have the good sense to give it to Quan + Yeoh and not Quan + JLC

In a perfect world, all 3 of them should win.

Dark Miracles Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 You could watch this on mute and it still doesn't look or feel like she's putting on a performance. I mean this is truly an acting achievement.

family.guy123 Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Final acting predictions Farrell Blanchett Bassett Quan
wesleywalrus Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I’ll have Fraser on gold derby but money on Butler
Blue Jasmine Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 I think it’s gonna go Blanchett Fraser Bassett Quan

And how she's heavily emoting with her hand... To the point where you'd say it's a bit too much but then remember that Lydia is the prominent, legendary figure of a profession where your hands are the conduit between the emotion and music. 1 hour ago, fridayteenage said: Yeah when I put addison rae on mute it doesn't look like she's performing or acting either. The amount of quirks she developed for that character is really amazing and made her feel real. There's a reason people thought it was a biopic, she's doing an impersonation of someone who doesn't even exist.
EnigmaticAndroid Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Apparently Oppenheimer and Barbie are skipping Cannes (and the fests in general). We're being robbed of Palme winner Barbie I fear
Blade Runner Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 The way people are predicting EEAAO to win like 10 awards. Not gonna happen. Just imagining the movie getting like 5 above the line wins is crazy as hell and unprecedented. Jei Mi Li is definitely not getting S. Actress.

Soup in Teapot Posted March 2, 2023 Posted March 2, 2023 Just rewatched EEAAO last night, whew what a refreshing experience , I’m SO glad it’s getting everything it deserved.
