Lead actress: I’m not sure between Michelle Yeoh and Cate Blanchett. I think I’m going with Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis in the supporting categories, so probably Blanchett. I can’t vote for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” across the board, can I? Or maybe I can.

:skull:

a voter with taste, ATRL should be mad

The MESS that would ensue if JLC ended up walking away with the only acting win at the Oscars from the cast of EEAAO ...

Don't say such blasphemy. EEAAO is sweeping, Michelle GOD is taking that Leading Actress Oscar!!!

GG + CC is apparently an unbeatable combo for supporting actress so Angela will be winning.

I’ll never watch it because I am anti-Marvel but she looks great in gifs I’ve seen so I’m okay with it and I want Ariana to be redeemed.

Imo Yeoh benefits from the ranked ballot voting for this reason:

Blanchett supporters are casual and won’t mind putting Yeoh at #2

EEAAO fans, on the other hand, are passionate. They will do everything to make Yeoh win - even if this means putting Blanchett at the bottom of the ballot:mandown:

I thought they only voted with a preferential ballot for Best Picture, did they change it?

yeah iirc the only reason they switched to preferential for BP was because of there being so many nominees

researched out of curiosity. curtis is just the 2nd actor to have individual film wins at sag + globe + bafta in her career but no oscar to-date (along with annette bening). but i really need her to be the 3rd acting priority for the film. we NEED a michelle win!

Y'all can drag it all you want & Harvey too (the campaign was messy and he's a horrible human being) but Shakespeare in Love is one of my favorite movies and I genuinely find little flaws with it. It holds up great with every rewatch for me. (and is certainly way better than Saving Private Ryan:rip:

By that it shows that u have no taste!

I won’t know peace if Michelle loses. Please, voters, please! :msmarvel:

Watch JLC win being the downfall of Yeoh 💀 but yeah giving 3 acting awards to EEAAO feels excessive hopefully it’s only Yeoh and Hong Chau for BSA and Barry.

I predict the SAG will get 2 acting winners right and BAFTA will get 2 acting winners right. The question is which ones?

SAG: Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, Jamie Lee Curtis

BAFTA: Austin Butler, Cate Blanchett, Barry Keoghan, Kerry Condon

Ke Huy Quan is locked. The fact that the BAFTAs went with Keoghan while the AACTAs went with Gleeson shows that they are splitting the votes and it's not a Rockwell/Harrelson situation with a clear frontrunner.

Honorary asian Jié Mi Li literally dedicated a good chunk of her SAG speech for "I say Michelle you say Yeoh" :skull: What more do you want from this Legend.

Dolly De Leon outacted most of the actual BSA nominees.

We need billboards, magazine ads, Activia sponsorships, AARP ads, Andrea type campaigns :giraffe:

But for real, I think JLC has been a great campaigner for the entire film and cast overall, it's just between her and Michelle, I'd much rather Michelle win her category nnnnn
