But it’s deserved given her overrated performance in such a bad film. Ana de Armas should’ve waited until the film adaptation for the best-selling book The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. The book description is literally her. (But it’s too late because it’s another role in the golden era of Hollywood and Evelyn Hugo is depicted similarly to Marilyn Monroe.) Dark Phoenix Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Omg and I almost forget this, what’s the story with Fran Drescher? No one was laughing and her jokes not even clapping and she’s the president of the SAG-AFTRA 💀 I thought that maybe she’s not that well liked in the role or maybe she hasn’t done big things, it was so awkward.
its_britney_bitch Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 Omg I tried to put £10 on Jamie Lee at 16/1 yesterday but they would only let me put £3, today she’s at 13/8
Feanor Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I think yesterday secured Michelle the Oscar win
LastKiss Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 If Jamie Lee Curtis wins the Oscar over Angela

People were having to be told / reminded multiple times to sit down and shut up throughout the ceremony when people were presenting
harwee Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 They should increase the qualifying requirements for Oscars, like 15 days theatrical exclusive or some sort of combination of rules. Streaming companies gamed the system regarding the 1 week rule, something I think originally intended for indies to have a fighting chance. How you have big budget, star-star studded movies circumventing these rules.

Eh that books melodramatic fluff
est. in 90s Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I'm still pulling for Angie! I still feel like she's going to come through with a sweep.
fridayteenage Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 The only asian role to win actress is that unspeakable movie james hong dragged in his speech, thanks to yellow face rainer. Let's change that, academy!

fridayteenage Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 ready to watch this asian excellence performance! maybe it'll win too!
Abracadabra Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 So happy for Michelle and the EEAAO sweep I need a repeat at the Oscars. I would be happy with Angela winning too, but I think Jamie is deserving also and I don't agree with the "career nomination" narrative that is being pushed by some, I thought she was legit brilliant in EEAAO.

Paltrow also rightfully beat out Blanchett in Elizabeth I still don't understand how shakespeare in love is a comedy
harwee Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 1 hour ago, family.guy123 said: How’ve they gamed it? Because they release purely to gain eligibility and promote their platform. Its opportunistic screening. This is an issue given that oscars is a cinema industry award, and streaming is not really part of the cinema ecosystem. Theaters don’t benefit. They don’t even report boxoffice, which makes them immune to the sways of analysis from awards pundits.
wanderingsoot Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 we love to see MAGA'd Trumper stans losing and falling flat on their face oh yes we do!!

Kylizzle Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 (edited) The way the Oscars are over if EEAAO doesn't win best picture. Edited February 27, 2023 by Kylizzle
Antisocialites Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 (edited) I need everyone to go and watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon to celebrate Yeoh's victory at the SAG awards. Let's manifest a groundbreaking, historical win at the Oscars! although Zhang Ziyi is actually the MVP of the movie and was massively snubbed by the Oscars and the rest of the industry. just like with Memoirs of a Geisha. Nonetheless Yeoh's performance is marvelous. and she was great in Memoirs as well! Edited February 27, 2023 by Héloïse
Kylizzle Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 (edited) I'd be happy if everyone from SAG repeats at the Oscars except for Fraser. Edited February 27, 2023 by Kylizzle
