Riot Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Is Kerry Condon actually coming? Is Banshees upsetting at Best Supporting Actor too? Imagine if we'll have 4 white acting Oscar winners

Imagine if we'll have 4 white acting Oscar winners I feel like BSA is still locked up, but I could see the Marvel bias hurting Angela in the long run. SAG will help spell things out I think
family.guy123 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Why is Renee catching strays in here. She was 100% deserving. Michelle Yeoh was mediocre. She’s very beautiful though
Riot Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 I'm definitely more confident with Ke Huy Quan winning the Oscar than with Angela Bassett. If Angela loses the SAG to anyone, even if it's not Condon, it's over...
MAXIMO Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 AACTA and BAFTA are industry awards and Kerry won both, Angela desperately needs SAG, otherwise...

Donquizote Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Hoping for Kerry to surprise during Oscar night
Kylizzle Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Supporting Actor is all locked up. It's fun to see supporting actress become more competitive tho since Actor seems likely to be locked too.

family.guy123 Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 “Average” is probably the more apt term. She neither impressed nor disappointed

R.E.M. Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 If I were a voter, I would choose Cate. She may have benefitted from having stronger material to work with (in my opinion) but her performance was just next-level. Michelle was great and I hope she wins too, but Tar is a career-defining performance.
Kylizzle Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 The universal Cate praise. I can stand it.
Almodusa Posted February 23, 2023 Posted February 23, 2023 Exciting to see some surprises in the supporting categories lately

Ke Huy Quan (soul of the movie) switches between universes, Stephanie and Jamie (villains but not so) - show range, whereas Michelle is...kinda there. Her range compared to three above is non-existing. Not only all her universes switches are not memorable, but also most of the movie she kinda doesn’t know what’s going on, and because of that only becomes sympathetic at the ending. Which surely doesn’t help her with voters.
hausofdave Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 Condon coming for the Oscar with BAFTA+ AACTA
hausofdave Posted February 23, 2023 Author Posted February 23, 2023 EEAAO's inability to do even frankly decent with these big international voting bodies might not sit well for its BP path, on the other hand both BA races are beyond locked atp, ironically leaving BSA (originally the two locked acting categories) fields somewhat in a 2/3 way race, w S.Actor having more plausibility for Quan
LastKiss Posted February 24, 2023 Posted February 24, 2023 When all 4 acting winners are white and the false narrative for diversity continues, then what?
