This album has been on repeat the past 2 days - it sounds so rich and lush on earphones. Also this made me go through her dicography and I am completely obsessed with Crush now

You literally quoted someone talking about the artist talking about the vinyl, sis. There will be a vinyl, just have some patience. It's a mess out there these days.

this is more than just an album :jonny: it's a novel, it's a horror film, it's a masterpiece

haven't had a first listening experience so intense since Lingua Ignota's Caligula in 2019

one question: do we know if the reference to a xxxually abusive father is autobiographical?

Yeah this is really AOTY. I'm sorry Rosalinda/Florence/Charli. :jonny3:

Like she really delivered such a flawless self-written and self-produced album with her debut. I absolutely adore her storytelling and the way she builds these worlds and narratives that feel so vivid but also with some looseness/vagueness allowing the songs to be be interpreted as their own.

The production is so ******* incredible too. The album sonically transported me to a whole other (dark) universe. She really has a way of taking you on a journey for like 5+ minutes. Let alone the almost 10 minutes excellence of Thoroughfare. ?

Yes. She produces, mixes, plays instruments by herself in her house :jonnycat:

Hoping more positive reviews pour in - even her Inbred EP was reviewed by Pitchfork but they’ve yet to review this masterpiece

But i still call home that house in nebraska
Where we found each other on a dirty mattress on the second floor
(Where I needed you, and I need you still)
Where the world was empty
Save you and i
Where you came and i laughed, and we left, and i cried
Where you told me even if we died tonight, that i’d die yours
(So I died there under you, every night, all night)

They should review it... She's been doing interviews and performing for them

She answered my question on her insta live the other day, saying that b-sides album will be out right at the end of this year at earliest, but probably early next year

I think a B-sides album or an EP will be out with the movie (or book). We'll most likely get more details about Ethel and her life in the film through these songs

She also answered my question in her live. I asked which song on this album is most indicative of the direction she’s going with her next project - she said Hard Times

She has spoken in the past about how the next album (speculated to be called The Preacher) will be a prequel in a sense to this album and will go in more depth about Ethel’s relationship with her father. So it makes sense that Hard Times is most indicative.
