The way this EXACT meltdown appears in this thread like once a week, by a different user each time  The only one in here who doesn’t seem calm is YOU, everyone else seems pretty unbothered to me  We’ve just all accepted the very clear writing on the wall that this isn’t going to be a “hit”. Just because someone’s pointing out something you disagree with doesn’t mean they’re not being calm

Can someone like… actually point to a specific post in the last 15-20 posts where someone is melting down about charts? Because this thread is making me feel like I’m losing my mind with the constant references to chart meltdowns that aren’t actually there

Like… no one, really, no one complained about Fair not storming up the charts. We’re all just commenting on how it’s doing so far… No one really expects this to do anything other than show her artistry, and it’s okay to say that

They so annoying...now they acting clueless as if i said this out of the blue. Im glad im a bigger person because i dont have time to waste on qouting each an every of their silly  complaints.  Just shut the *** up and enjoy the damm song. They gonna be even more annoying when the uptempo drops.

Again, instead of this holier-than-thou charade you both seem to enoy doing, can either of you please point to a specific post made in the last 24 hours where someone was “nagging and complaining”? Or, like @Marvinsaid, is someone on the last page merely asking about the video or objectively pointing out that the radio updates have slowed down considered “nagging and complaining” now?

 

The real issue here seems to be that some of you just… don’t seem to want to talk about Fair. Which is fine, that’s obviously your right! But then why do you stay perched in the Fair thread? There’s only so many times we can say we like a song we first heard many weeks ago. A single thread is inevitably going to turn to chart discussion because there would be nothing else to talk about otherwise  I really don’t mean to be rude when I say this but… if innocent posts about the video and the radio updates are enough to emotionally rile you up, then maybe don’t visit the thread?

 

I’ve really tried hard to keep quiet or laugh off these nonstop gatekeeping meltdowns from the same few users, but it’s getting boring and tiring. Just a heads-up in the future I’ll probably start reporting them as abrasive and/or flamebait. And that’s the last thing I’m going to say on this topic because frankly this has been overdue and I’m not up to discussing it further

The irony of this  The most intolerable thing of all is when people try to police how others feel about stuff. Not saying that I personally am, but people are allowed to be pissed off when they've invested their time and money into stanning Normani; not that her team is going to listen but nonetheless people are allowed to be annoyed. 

 

We should know by now that she and her team are going to do as they please so there's no need for all this because it's gonna achieve nothing. 

 

The mini promo-run she did for Fair/Cracker Jack/teasing the uptempo in addition to her constantly saying summer is gonna be good and what insiders have been saying makes it seem that there's some sort of plan in place for the first time in a while so all we can do is wait until things get moving again. That's the reality of it; nobody is listening to us, all we can do is wait.

I could be wrong but I remember Normani getting backlash for Motivation debuting in the top 30s and Wild Side debuting in the teens.

 

I don't think chart positions or lack thereof make a difference when it comes to her. I doubt a low chart entry for Fair would impress anyone on Normani's behalf. Since Normani is treated as the goalpost there's nothing she can do to prove herself outside of getting a number one or creating lower expectations and then surpassing her own lowered standards.

It’s the way we really can’t go a week without having meltdowns in here (in this case meltdowns about ~non existing~ meltdown)    

 

The promo run she did was enough to keep me fed for at least 3 weeks. We got SO much and I don’t think that had ever happened before lol now i’m just excited for May to begin, but I have feeling she’ll close off the month with something (fan video at least - maybe we will get a official video release date with it)

Normani could have a hit if she wanted. TM charting at 81 is bad for an uptempo pop song with a video that tried to have “iconic” “viral” moments. The double standards for Them are wild but I’m guessing it has to do with the fact that B is backing that girl. Comparing an slow R&B ballad with no video to Treat me is like comparing Waves to Motivation obviously the latter will perform better bc it’s pop song built for a wider audience. So the fact that girl is flopping (the song is nowhere to be seen on any streaming chart) yet stans are celebrating that she has a hit and dragging fair for not charting are just trying to spite N.

Y’all aren’t talking about Fair the song though. Y’all only care about what the song is doing commercially. Like let’s stop the cap. Nobody wasn’t even coming for anybody asking about the video because that’s actually a valid concern.

Fans will naturally discuss commercial success because they know it will impact the level of promotion, budget and likelihood of future music. We all want to see our favourite artists winning, especially when said favourite artist is a major label commercial star like Normani. Considering she hasn't even released an EP.....it's natural to be a bit worried that a single is flopping because it could put a full-length project in jeopardy. It doesn't mean you are having a "meltdown".

 

I want to be positive but getting a Cardi feature was like a huge coup at this point, and then waiting eight months to release a downtempo single without a video.......I'm just going to keep hoping that insider was right about an album in June. I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's time they stop trying to make a Beyonce level smash happen, just do what Kehlani and H.E.R and other R&B girls do which is release music regardless of how the singles chart and do theatre tours. I do think she could book a theatre tour off the back of a solid 10 track album.

 

Also, Chloe seems like a nice girl, but "Treat Me" is unlistenable. At least "Fair" is a good song.
