Oh god Candy would have aged so badly. Queen of scrapping shitty songs.

I love the chorus. :WAP:

I wish her stuff with Alex da Kid leaked as he’s done amazing songs with Imagine Dragons. We could have had Demons 2.0. :alexz:

GL without the Max Martin songs but with Fine, Gone, Complete Me, Hello + personal songs she really wanted to put :WAP:

Then she would put these Max Martin songs on self-titled instead of some fillers that made the final cut

A WIN-WIN for sure :jonny5:

I love the MM songs so much but they just don’t belong on GL. I’d kill to hear Fine and Gone. I just wish they let her release the album how she wanted, but also got her to record some more commercial stuff for another album they could drop after GL.

Also, “Hello” is such a mystery as I remember pre-ordering her WYWH single from her official store as it said it came with that song and when it arrived it was replaced by an acoustic track. I was LIVID! :rip:

Exactly what I thought. They could drop a acoustic album in 09 and then lead of the next album by the end of 09. They could totally do something like Kelly did with My December and All I Ever Wanted.

Candy sounds like an instant hit and with vocals and new instruments, it will age fine. It can’t be worse than WTH. If it’s a hit, ppl perspective will change.

I remember :rip: in fact there are rumors that "Hello" is, in fact, Hello Heartache... guess we'll never know the truth

If Bite Me had just a touch better vocal production I genuinely think it could give some of her best singles a run for their money. I was just listening to it today and was getting my life to it :wanda:top 5 for her lead singles I fear :jamming:

What I wouldn't give to see this living legend live, hopefully one day I'll finally be able to :weeps:

What do y'all want from the next single (assuming it'll be one from the deluxe) in terms of production, sound, vocals, lyrics, etc.?

I still believe they'll promote Bois Lie as 3rd single :cm:

If there's any chance of a 4th single, I believe it will be Avalanche/Cannonball/Love Sux unless some track from the deluxe become viral or an instant smash.

But I feel like all songs from deluxe are uptempos, similar to Bite Me/Love Sux and she probably will never perform them

Honestly, I feel like the era is over. They didn’t even attempt to get it back on track after the LIWYHM fiasco.

But I hope they’ll push Avalanche a few weeks before the Grammy voting period. She has to be aware it’s the fan-favorite and by far the most acclaimed song on the album.

I think we’ll get the deluxe in August but nothing will be pushed as a single or get a music video.

I have a feeling these were tracks organised by RCA by professional producers for Avril to write over with a co-writer and she refused. And that’s why all 3 of those tracks have no vocals laid down on them.

At 1:11 you would hear the echo or undertone of "what/won't you say". I believe the vocal was laid down as well as to others

Ooh that could be true, but I’m also not sure she’d still have the rights to that song if she originally worked on it with RCA. I’ve seen a lot of people claim Complete Me is the original version of Hello Heartache, but I’m not sure where this is coming from.

In all honesty, I wouldn’t be mad at her moving on from this album quickly as I’d love for her to do what Hayley and Taylor did and release another album close together. Love Sux has been one of my favourite Avril albums in years and this is coming from somebody who did also love HAW and AL. I’d love to hear some more from these sessions!

One thing I do wish is that Avril had a better track record when it comes to MVs as a lot of hers are extremely underwhelming and you just know if she released Avalanche she’d give it a tour video. :rip:

She will shoot with People magazine and give it a Goodbye MV for the FANS!

Goodbye did not deserve that trainwreck of a video.

I wouldn’t be mad either, the ship has sailed.

I wouldn’t mind (in fact I would prefer) if from now on she just dropped her albums all at once with a music video for the single and then just went on tour.

I doubt she’ll move on before the Grammy’s (so January-February). Either way, a new album next spring before the European tour would be *chef’s kiss*

I think one of the main issues with her music videos is that, with a few exceptions, her post-album singles never did sh*t so the labels kept the budget to the bare minimum. She also stopped caring after GL tbh

God, I would love that. Hopefully she does something like that with her next album. She should just do a surprise drop for us.

Avril does have some great MVs under her belt but I feel like they get progressively worse each era. Self-Titled and HAW didn’t have a single good video between them. The cinematography always looks so cheap. Rock N Roll was giving Sharknado. :rip:

I actually had the EU tour in mind when I mentioned her releasing another album soon after Love Sux as she could even rebrand that leg of the tour to coincide with the new album.

oh yes some shots are horrible :rip:

She paid Goodbye dust during the tour and it wasn’t even a fan favorite so I never got the point of the music video. I guess she wanted to show off her ~artistic~ side

I love the song but the video was completely unnecessary and looked like a low budget advertisement for escorting. :rip:

Push would have made more sense as a single considering she performed that live on a few televised appearances.

I don't get the "escorting" part in that video, I thought it's a U.S. thing. It's a relief to learn that I'm not the only one lol

I just don’t understand what the vision for the video was as it feels extremely disconnected from the song itself. It would make more sense for a song like Give You What You Like… :gaycat6:
