Is it the first time, top 2 will be occupied by animated movies No it wont. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) is pushing 800M WW. I do not think Spider-Verse will entertain that figure. It definitely will be more profitable though, due to it having a much lower budget than GOTG Vol 3.
Cheers Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Just got out the theater. It was enjoyable but definitely overhyped unfortunately. Into The Spiderverse is WAYYYYY better. I’m surprised so many reviews are claiming otherwise.
saucy Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Knocked it out of the park. Other comic book movies are not touching it I fear. Also Miguel
Artist Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 This is my second American movie and while delightful, the cliffhanger kills it for me. I am glad people are enjoying it tho. Merci
Hephaestus Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I agree that Into The Spider-Verse is better overall, but this one was really good too and the Infinity War to Beyond The Spider-Verse's End Game (that I know will be a collapse). Loved every second of it, the animation is out of this world (like, literally a comic book come to life) and the ending was so clever and unexpected. The character journey of The Spot was also incredible, the way it went from comic relief to full blown, menacing villain was so good. I can't wait to see the end of this story. If only Sony was able to get the live action Spider-Verse movies to this level the MCU would shake a bit let's be real.

bjorn Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 After some time reflecting after seeing this in cinemas a few days ago I my conclusion is Into the Spiderverse > Across the spiderverse

That long and unnecessary Gwen intro ALONE makes Across the lessor Miles film. Also Into had better Spider-Men and they genuinely felt like they were from different dimensions. King Porky, Queen Penny, and King Noir got more cheers at the end than some of the featured Spider-People of this movie.

XAMJ Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 The way Twitter and social media has deluded themselves into thinking Gwen is trans
Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 across is a better coming of age story. Idk what y’all talking about Into being better I mean it’s your opinion, but Across hits way more themes better. And Gwen’s part is crucial to that reason
Cheers Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 Miles gagged. Gwen shaking. Hobie cried. Miguel dead. Peter irrelevant. Pavitr: King of The Spider-Verse 1

Aethereal Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I expect the movie to be very frontloaded. Get ready to quote and drag me this week if that turns out to be false. I am ready.
