The scenery and cinematography was beautiful and amazing.. 

 

The story had so much potential but it was boring and slow pacing 80% of the time. 

 

Hopefully they'll bring in more spark into the second one.

There is so much backstory/ context in the first book, that it's impossible to fit it all in one film.

I think most that found part 1 a bit boring will enjoy the pay off of part 2. That's where all the action lies

They really should have just gone with a cinematic single player action game. Can't say I'm not interested a little bit though, it's Dune.

Also, Dune is still the #3 best selling disc overall (and #2 best selling Bluray) of the year with over 810,000 copies sold in the US. It finally fell out of the top 20 Bluray best sellers this week after releasing in January

 

Many bigger box office hits that were released way after have come and gone and failed to surpass it. Uncharted, Sing 2, The Batman, Eternals, Sonic 2 and even Doctor Strange 2 won't come close to Dune's sales. Aside from Top Gun and Jurassic World (and maybe Minions) , I dont see anything else topping Dune this year, so i think it should finish the year as the 5th best seller, which would be incredible.

No twitter link. I find the data at this website that tracks disc sales. Have a look! Lots of data. Here is the link for the 2022 combined best sellers, from there you can find the weekly charts for bluray, dvd, etc.

Wow I just remembered how it was a day and date streaming release. Still outselling everyone else that had theatrical exclusive releases. Especially impressive that films like The Batman and Doctor Strange, both which grossed over $370M domestic (compared to Dune's $108M) but will be outsold by Dune on disc sales. 

 

Granted, the Dune 4k HDR Bluray is a masterpiece and is a staple for any video/audiophile's catalogue. The image is incredibly crispy and detailed and the Dolby Atmos audio transfer is perhaps the best of ALL TIME put to disc. The sound is just like the movie theatre

Did anyone get a steelbook for Dune? I was so sad the Best Buy exclusive was never available in store. Made the trip on release day for nothing

I was hoping that the Bene Gesserit show would release early next year but they haven't even started filming yet  I guess it'll be out in 2024

Won't benefit nearly as much from both the Thanksgiving and Xmas holiday boosts now, but I guess it is away from the direct competition now (Hunger Games).

 

It will enjoy a nice 4-day Veteran's Day debut though, so there's that. 

 

Dune Part 1 still annihilating the competition on disc sales. 830k+ sales in the US alone. Closing in on Ghostbusters for #2 on the year (only behind Spider-Man). But Jurassic World and Top Gun will surpass. Minions however, won't, and neither will Thor or Sonic 2. So a #4 year end finish I think. Incredible. 

 

Also #16 on YouTube, 10 months later 

I think Part 2 can gross $200M+ domestic alone. Overseas will be massive. $430-450M, if not more.
