Aww

This outsold season 2 for sure :clap3:

Kit didn't lie when he described the season as darker (and hornier at the end), he put it perfectly.

Spoiler

Tara's an amazing person and i'm glad they tackled the intense transphobia in the media these days.

I agree that there were a lot of topics touched on this season but somehow it felt much more grounded than last season which felt more muddled amongst all the pretty Paris scenary.

The way Tao went from my most hated to my definitive favorite

This was a pretty good season, though not sure if it eclipsed two for me.

This is my biggest gripe too, after having finished the season. Charlie being this broken person always going through something while Nick a perfect savior willing to stick through it all just gets boring. :rip: The bisexual jock saved the gay nerd from bullying, awakened his sexuality thanks to him, came out to the world for him, and is always putting him before everyone else and himself, all while only being a teenager.

Sometimes I feel like the show is afraid of showcasing greater character flaws (when they do show them, they usually get resolved pretty quickly) in fear of any characters being branded toxic. The show is still a cute little fairytale of course, but it's important to realize that that's what it is: fantasy.

idk, I wouldn't call Nick a perfect savior. He felt like a subtle, less expressive Tao this season. He came off very codependent on Charlie and insecure of himself. Not to mention the absolute struggle to curate an academic path transitioning into uni.

I hate Charlie. Such an annoying whiny Queen. Nick deserves better:rip:

Finished the third season. I felt it was a strong showing, I thought they, as always, tackled a lot of sensitive topics really well for a teenager show.

I haven't read the comics, so I'm not sure if this is the same, but one criticism I have is that, story-wise, the Charlie stuff has been a bit too long now. I think the other characters also have interesting things that can be explored, and in the season they were short B plots.

Spoiler

Also, clearly Olivia Coleman wasn't available/didn't want to be in this season, the way they avoid showing her character was a bit funny.

Like a Christmas party in Nick's house and the mom is not featured even once was a bit funny.

Is this good? It's not in the top 10 for Netflix USA anymore :dancehall3:

Not really. Season 2 did over 6 million. A 4th season isn't guaranteed, and if it does happen I think this show will get Sex Educationed with a shortened cast and a setting change to make it cheaper.

I wonder why season 3 isn't doing that well. Too dark for the younger viewers?

I saw some complaints that season 3 feels like one long public service announcement / afterschool special.

But it also feels like they did not do so much promo.

Season 2 they did no promo because of the writer's strike though and it did better than Season 3.

I'm halfway through S3 and it feels so much more pushy and preachy with the topics than ever before. I'm struggling to continue watching. :dancehall3:

S3 isn't as easy to rewatch due to the heavy topics, the first two seasons probably had a lot of rewatches because it was mostly light and fun

Which ironically was also criticism too often highlighted on ATRL.

I just don't think this is the type of show that can go on for years and years. It was always going to burn fast. The target audience is teenagers who move on from things fairly quickly. There's no need for them to show Charlie and Nick's lives together beyond college. Maybe just a scene or two in the series finale showing them happily married maybe with a baby. 5 seasons would suffice.  By then most of the cast will be adults.

It was better than S2. It felt like Sex Education S4 to me though, just so unrealistic.

Not bad. Nice to see it in the top 10 WW for another week. This show is so cheap to make. Also no shade but Joe and Kit are the only one in the cast will get a pay raise. So that shouldn't affect the budget too much for a 4th season which should be okay with Netflix to give it a green light

Plus both of their profiles have already gotten bigger with Joe also currently on Agatha All Along and Kit starring alongside Rachel Zegler in Romeo & Juliet on Broadway.

I'm on episode 3 and this is not it. I'm struggling to watch the episodes, tbh (the pace is kinda tedious although I appreciate the heavy topics because it makes it looks more mature).  That being said, Tori has to be my favorite character. Such a Queen. :jonnykin:

I think season 2 was better. I don't get the "unrealistic" complaints, as if previous seasons were any more realistic.

I do whatever found it a bit boring. Maybe I'm just not in its target.

Wow this is boring. It lost all the sparkle from the first 2 seasons.

So, S4 and that's it. I don't see it surviving any longer.

Us queer colective are disguting.

so now only 'ripped' gays and 'good looking guys' can be conected romantically, and the fat and ugly have to end up connecting because no 'handsome gay' is gonna fall for a 'normal looking guy'

WTF?

You guys are so f*cked up and childish.

This show is about representation and taking care of ourselves.
