I don't think S2 will start filming until late summer if the scripts are ready. So it might not matter.

They might have scripts done. But they haven't been renewed or have they gotten permits to film in France. Interior scenes can be shot in England... Edited May 17, 2022 by 1DES

They are only there for a week in the graphic novels. It'll probably be one or two episodes set in Paris. I think Alice and Patrick (the EP) have a general idea of how s2 will be set up and I wouldn't be surprised if Alice wrote some scripts for S2 while doing S1.
LikeAChampion Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 The more I read this thread the more I think filming in late Summer is extremely realistic. My gut feeling tells me they've renewed it already quietly (given the team a heads up to start preparing for S2 with scripts and schedules) and are waiting until Pride month to make the official announcement with a cute video from the whole cast (like they did with Young Royals). If they filmed all of Olivia Coleman in 2 days for S1 then they can definitely work around Yasmin and have her film all her scenes within a couple days.

Idk how big her role will be on Dr Who If the alleged casting call is true then she’s playing a “guest lead role” and for filming it just says “several weeks May/June 2022” so It won’t overlap with Heartstopper filming.

AM98GJ Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 tbf we had boys in our years (16-18) who looked old af - especially the rugby boys
Donquizote Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Kit is not going to have that twink look by the time next season premieres
Almodusa Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Quick, someone jump over Kit’s head so that it stunts his growth - or however that superstition goes
X~MoviePoP Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 have yall been to highschools lately? 16 year olds are looking 25
LastKiss Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 They'll have to film S2, S3 and S4 back to back for the actors to still look like kids somehow

Goaty Posted May 17, 2022 Posted May 17, 2022 Went into this knowing nothing and having no expectations and it was so cute. There is a warmth and lightness to it that a lot of LGBTQ+ media usually lacks. Had several powerful moments (Nick coming out to his mom, the montage at the party leading up to the climax of "Clearest Blue"). Fundamentally there was nothing groundbreaking here but if anything it showcased what good LGBTQ+ media can be with the right talent and direction. Overall the show left me feeling an exuberance for life, and I immediately felt the urge to go hug someone I care about.
Goaty Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Also, the devil was in the details. Nick's mom casually framing his interactions with girls in a way that reinforces heteronormative ideals (in the most motherly -- yet still oppressive! -- way possible). Imogen tripping over her words and clumsily declaring her allyship to the table of girls (but ultimately it felt like a genuine ally not really understanding how to best communication her support). Never really being shown exactly if Imogen understood Nick's monologue to her in the park until we see a glimmer in her eye in the final scene when Nick takes Charlie by hand. And it's these little interactions that give the show so much credibility.
GagaTomFord Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 announcing a renewal makes complete sense next month I really hope they go forward with it given how it seems like one of Netflix's less expensive shows to shoot
Goaty Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Netflix should have Trixie and Katya watch this on their YouTube show. It'd be great promo
