I guess this tidbit answers a lot of questions. I had no idea she did this. Kudos to her. Nice to see that Joe and Kit are part of the fam.

Oh man, that is so good! I've been having a beef with queer characters being played by straight and cis people for so long now. Hollywood better take notes ASAP.

Harry's terrible acting was by far the worst part of the show

It's possible, but the actress who plays Tara is married in real life to a husband lol :rip:

She mentions it here in this interview:

But I am not going to speculate any further out of respect for the cast since some of them asked people to stop doing that.

Very cheesy, very cute. I agree some of the writing is... umm... interesting, but I am happy this exists and it's a smash! :rainbow:

Honestly I think Alice did really well for a first time screenwriter and I think she will improve for the second season.

i deleted the thread i made about this. i agree we shouldn't speculate about it. but i think it would be so important for the boys to be actually queer at least. and Yasmin is actually trans, so there's that too.

I was wondering where it went lol.

I get what you're saying though. I mean Joe has definitely confirmed he's queer. Like he said the other day he wants to be the first gay disney prince in a movie lol

yeah, and i think that one tweet by Kit was about people saying that he's straight. it would be bad imo if he was straight

I just watched the entire video and she didn't say "husband" she said "housemate" if you're referring to when she talked about when she got the news of getting the role.

Oh damn, I had the closed caption on because of my hearing loss and it said husband. :bibliahh:

Well that makes more sense. I was surprised because I was like wow, she's really young to be married.

i hope we get more young cal and derek storyline later. that scene when Cal heard that he had made that girl pregnant and started sobbing ... omg :!ohno: i don't really watch Euphoria otherwise but the young cal arc was so interesting, and why he became troubled as an older man

The only confusing part about this, for me, is that Kit originally auditioned for Charlie (which I still think is funny). So this is a bit unclear for me if he was cast as a bi character? I don't really care about Kit's sexual orientation. But this claim seems to conflict with what we know of Kit's audition process. Idk.

If y’all had told me a year ago that this show would have blown up the way it did I would be fairly shocked. I still remember the casting announcement and following the cast on Instagram when they had like, 4 followers. **** is wild.

The only thing I can assume is that they allowed anyone to audition for the parts but when it came time to narrow down the auditions, they opted to focus on choosing actors / actresses who matched their intended character's sexuality for an added layer of realism? The Kit aspect of auditioning for Charlie but then deciding to go for Nick is certainly a head scratcher, but I think that this little theory of mine could explain any potential confusion. :thing:

Don’t fully quote me on this because this was over a year ago, from what I remember of the initial Charlie casting notice it said that they wanted to ensure that LGBTQIA+ community members and allies felt inspired to apply, but when they started culling people that sent in pictures + a paragraph before the self-tape stage they eliminated people who didn’t mention the LGBTQIA+ community in their little paragraph. Hypothetically, Kit could be bi and initially auditioned for Charlie because he fit under the broader umbrella term.

Kizzy Edgell (Tara) is actually non-binary, not sure about their sexual orientation but I agree we shouldn’t speculate.

Or maybe he was so perfect for the role that they ignored the fact that he's straight

I'b be left a bit bitter that the only straight person in the cast is the one receiving the most attention :monkey:

So I gave in and bought the graphic novels :jonnycat:

I'm halfway through volume 1, and I'm already so blown away by how faithful the adaptation is. Alice literally brought the pages to life, it's incredible. The illustration are adorable, I'm loving!

I just bought all four. :weeps: I love them so much.

This is starting to consumed my daily life. Reading the webcomics then going back to rewatching the series. Now I just discovered that she has spinoff novellas and some are set in the future. :jonny6:

Really impressed with this series :clap3:

The writing and atmosphere were authentic and light, and none of the characters were annoying/overdramatic (Tao was nearing the line a few times though).

Spoiler

I also really identify with Charlie in the sense that he apologizes for everything and thinks he’s a burden :emofish:
