No it’s all one story just split into two parts, kinda like Stranger Things did. They only finished filming 5 episodes before the strikes happened. So part 2 will likely come in early 2024.

The plot does seem altered from the book...but that's probably a good thing in this case because I don't know how the book could be a whole tv series

 

AHS not trending on Twitter after a new trailer drop is not great tho, prob in partial to lack of promoting due to the strike

Book summary for anyone curious

 

 

Emma's character gets prego thru IVF and starts seeing weird **** and they relocate to the Hamptons while she is preggo and she still sees weird **** like creepy dolls on a beach then and eats like a raccoon IIRC because she was really hungry and then hires a investigator to help her figure out her life and they tell her a coven of witches has done something to her and then her husband is caught having an affair with someone at the IVF clinic who was trying to mess up Emma's characters chances of getting pregnant and then they are in a car wreck and her husband dies and she goes into labor and shes weird **** while giving birth and it turns out it was a fertility coven who try to help women get pregnant who are struggling.

 

Kim's character in the book is an old woman whose dying whose soul gets transferred into the baby when it's born so they've clearly changed that dynamic

This looks more like a movie, rather than a TV show. I got kinda bored throughout the trailer, I don’t know how they’ll stretch this into several episodes.

The cinematography seems pretty mid and it seems obvious all the bad stuff is Emma's character hallucinating or having a nightmare. It looks like a trailer for a low budget horror film on Hulu instead of a series. IDK, it just feels like it is missing something, that extra 'x-factor' that AHS used to have.
