Da Vinci Posted December 31, 2022 Posted December 31, 2022 It's definitely gonna be interesting cause new ATLA animated movies are also coming starting from 2025 And I think the live action Netflix adaptation is coming too? Unless that was shelved as it should (But Miss Aang and her squad will win the pop culture war while Miss Kiri and her family will win the box office so it's a win-win I guess )

The Netflix adaptation has been in post production for months now and will probably debut a first look quite soon. Most likely releasing mid to late 2023. Edited January 1, 2023 by mystery

Donquizote Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Third weekend is doing more than No Way Home 2B is guaranteed. The only question is whether this will surpass Endgame or the first Avatar

BNF91 Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 $44M Saturday overseas. Strong number for New year's Eve. China is making a HUGE comeback. It's 3rd Sunday is projected to be $17M! That will make it a $37M weekend (up from $27M 2nd wknd!), the all time best 3rd weekend EVER for a Hollywood film. Now Maoyan forecast for it's final total has risen from $180M to $215M Global total has crushed past $1.3B, witharound $1.307B after Saturday. With a Sunday increase in store both domestic ($22M) and overseas ($60-65M), we will be looking at a total just under the cusp of $1.4B with the holiday Monday still to record. Like the good sis @mysterysaid, we should be looking at blazing past TGM with pure ease by Tuesday!
BNF91 Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) $2B is locked ya'll. It's crushing Spiderman No Way Home everyday now. No Way Home 3rd wknd- $56M DOM/$78M OS: $134M global wknd, $1.368B running total. Made another $570M. Avatar: TWOW 3rd wknd- $64M DOM/$186M OS : $250M global wknd, $1.38B running total. At least another $650-700M in the tank (minimum! I feel like I'm really lowballing here considering A2 did DOUBLE No Way Home this wknd). Question now is, how much higher than $2B can it reach? Donquizote Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 All the trolls here are nowhere to be found That's why never doubt King Cameron.

China + Russia could've catapulted this to the 2.6-3B range
Da Vinci Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 To be fair, No Way Home dealt with Omicron and absolutely 0 China money BUT it really is satisfying after all the "forgotten! nobody will care!" comments from MCU stans over the past decade The way they're all MUTE now

Like NWH benefited from zero competition through the first two months of 2022, A2 similarly will have 6 more weeks of premium screens all to itself and no movies releasing that pose the slightest threat (M3GAN could do like $28M this coming weekend I suppose, but A2 will be gunning for $38-42M, then M3GAN drops off a cliff by the next wk. A2 won't reach the $800M+ that NWH did simply because it opened to literally half of NWH's debut week, yet it's now matching, more surpassing it in dailies after only 2.5 weeks. Legs baby. I wanna see at least $210M more domestic after this holiday wknd. $650M+ finish. A bit better legs than that, and Maverick is in sight.

SealitwithaJ Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Finally saw this yesterday and I have to say, I absolutely loved it, cried at the ending, I thought it was just beautiful cried in the middle too what a film, just really annoyed at the fact that Spoiler They had spider save that colonel, i could have really done without him being in the next film & it also just didn’t make any sense for him to save him either. His loyalty remains to the Sully’s but he saves him knowing all he will ever do is just keep trying to murder all the people he loves too & is loyal to, idgi.
Arcadius Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Even though I was one of the few saying I believed it wouldn't flop, but I definitely didn't think $2B. Here I thought No Way Home would probably hold the crown for a few years and James said nope!
