I saw it yesterday.

And not only did I not remember a film that was so crowded 2 weeks in... But I didn't remember the days when films ended and people started clapping...

Yesterday they did.

I loved it. (let me say that I actually think that nothing happened...) but visually it's insane and it sets the tone for the trilogy that is arriving together these years.

My theater did the same, I think the last time I witnessed that was for Endgame :toofunny3:

Nobody ever claps in cinema here, unless it's the premiere of a film where cast is present in the same theater. Because what's the point otherwise? Nobody of importance knows you clapped, they collect the check regardless and people just want to get out when the film is finished ASAP :toofunny3:

About to watch this for second time, this time with my work friends since they have no idea about this movie but I enlightened them.

We’re going to watch the 3D IMAX one

That's why I was surprised too...

Here it's been a looooooong time since I saw that... I'm from Spain.. so I can assure you that it's not anything usual.

Another 19-20M for Thursday DOM, tracking higher than Rogue One (which did 16.7M).

My weekend estimates:

FRI: 22M

SAT: 16M

SUN: 19M

TOTAL: $57M (-10% vs last weekend)

Also, +$47M internationally on Thursday, so another +$66-67M WW for a total of aprox. $1.167B. Will cross 1.2B today, will be very close to 1.4B by the end of the weekend.

Expect a steep decline in weekdays starting Tuesday as the holiday season ends. I can’t see it going further than 1.65B by the end of next weekend, but hopefully I’m wrong.

Had to suffer getting bad seats at a 10pm showing to get 4DX seats :rip:

It was hilarious seeing the whole theater get flown around the room on the shaking seats :lmao: the lady next to me looked like she just went through a tornado at the end of the movie :rip:

Id only ever recommend 4D if you’ve already seen a movie before. That **** is so distracting but still such a fun element. The audience was laughing half the time from the violently shaking chairs and bursts of air in shooting scenes :deadbanana:

This is so good omg. :duca: Thursday was looking ugly at $17.5M for a while. That jump is a relief. It's comfortably outdoing Rogue One daily now. Domestic outdid my forecast by $5M this week, very good. Wknd could go past $60M 3-day and $76-78M 4-day to finish out the holiday season at $430-435M domestic.

Overseas Thursday, I have no words. Amazing weekdays grosses. 3rd weekend will be huge. We might be looking at a bigger weekend than the last. Just insane. With the 3rd Friday being bigger than last Friday, China is headed for an increase in the 3rd weekend. France has smashed my projections again, cruising past $80M on Friday already :deadbanana2:$170M OS this weekend ideally, for $960-980M OS total. Let's go $1.43B by Monday!

China COVID situation is improving me thinks.

I think more people there will go out to watch movies.

This will definitely gross >200M there, which is amazing since the first one did 200M only :jonny:

Thursday increase in actuals again.. $20M  domestic :soda:shook

3rd best 2nd Thursday of all-time domestically. $160M 2nd week, down a mere 19% from the debut week ($197M)

$60M+ 3-day, $80M 4-day in play

My very first 4DX experience was with Wonder Woman and I brought my mom with me. Poor thing. I thought she was gonna fly off the seat, I was literally holding her so she didn’t go off flying.

it was a total mess. I could not concentrate on the film. It’s too much.

Friday number is looking goooooood.. :duca: comps currently suggest $23.5-25M. If $25M happens, we might be in store for the 2nd biggest 3rd weekend of all-time in the US/Canada with $70M+. Even ahead of the first Avatar ($68M).
