ctlp27 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Spoiler free The Flash I really, really loved it. Not perfect, but for DC movie fans it's clearly up there with the best. Ezra is made for this role. Sasha Calle is a revelation. The story is moving and the surprises make you smile all the way. It's exciting and coherent. In short, everything that Marvel hasn't yet managed to do in its version of the multiverse. A fine way to conclude (?) the SnyderVerse. That's all I'm saying. It makes me sad we had to wait so long for this movie and that it probably won't have the success it should have had.
Popboi. Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Spoiler heavy: Spoiler They did Supergirl so dirty with her ultimate fate, what the ****? Sasha's delivery is one of the best, if not THE best part of the movie alongside Keaton's and they have her end like that? Unserious as hell. At least we got great interactions between Barry and Kara that has always been a great part on every iteration of the duo (Comics, Injustice and Arrowverse), even if brief. Speed Force scenes seem way too rushed, not only in how the CGI gives CW realness, but how Dark Flash is revealed and that part of the plot is solved in literally 5 minutes when the babies falling from the building seemed like it lasted at the very least double of that???? Other than that, the development of the original Barry throughout the movie is very good, and was actually likable by the end. Really love some casting choices (Sasha and Kiersey as Iris especially). Wondering how they will take it from here, do an entirely different universe for the future of DCU or start from here? I really think they will go with the starting fresh with a new universe.
fridayteenage Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 metacritic flash 57 extraction ii 55 in close competition with another generic action blockbuster
Sam96 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I loved this. can’t wait to watch it again tomorrow. ❤️
Broken Posted June 16, 2023 Author Posted June 16, 2023 "‘THE FLASH’ earned $9M from Thursday night previews at the domestic box office." https://twitter.com/hollywoodhandle/status/1669555075868512256 Jesus Christ . DC needs a HARD reboot.
barbiegrande Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Nnn Tbh the numbers are better than I was expecting. I didn’t think it would clear 50 million, so congrats
Gossip_Boy Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Yeah this was fun for the most part. The CGI is shockingly bad tho. I don’t understand how Superman & Lois, a CW show can have better CGI than a $200M+ major studio movie like 💀 Another thing that disappointed me as a fan of the Burtonverse is that it might be Michael Keaton playing Bruce Wayne, but it is very clearly not the same Batman from the Burton movies. Gotham is just a normal looking city, even. Overall it was fine tho. But not something I would rewatch.
WildAmerican Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 It was fine. Some good moments some bad moments. Ending was a jumbled pile of dogshit tho. Kinda sucks that Ezra is a weirdo, cause they gave a really good performance Spoiler they were doing it for me in that scene in particular
Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 This was one of the better DCEU movies. It was decent, but Messy. I give it a 6/10. The visuals were so bad that I am surprised they really let this be released to the public. This would have been a lot better if released following Batman v Superman. But at this point it’s a middle of the road Superhero movie and was very overhyped. Thank God this universe is dead. The back to back DCEU flopping is exhausting. Ready for a proper Green Lantern and Static Shock Movie.
Rainy Devil Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Watched this yesterday and it was pretty good, I liked it. A 7/10 for me. Yes, the effects were a choice, to say the least, and the final arc was messy and mediocre. But overall it was fine. Too bad Ezra is a psycho because he did a good job. Sasha was really good, hopefully we get to see more of her.
abc1990 Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 Spoiler The CGI of the babies falling from the sky and the CGI of the cronobowl stuff were both beyond terrible
fridayteenage Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 much more damaging than the critics. the metascore for aquaman was 55 and that smashed
publikcitizen Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 This movie was just meh. I was over it by the end.

Dark Phoenix Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I really enjoyed this and for me it was the best DCEU film (which sadly was not that hard). And I hate myself but I found Ezra kinda cute and sexy with the tons of shirtless scenes and the suit very adjusted on their legs. I guess it’s flopping because they have said that the universe is dead so people don’t care and also because it was attached to JL which was a mess and then Ezra violent episodes. I’m afraid of Blue Beetle

Braz Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Whew this bombed BOMBED. WB tried to keep Ezra afloat but their mainstream career is now over after this.
Gossip_Boy Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 B cinemascore is definitely going to pull the plug on this. This is what happens when you overhype a movie to high heavens and act like it’s the best thing since sliced bread. The Flash is overall better than the likes of Black Adam, Shazam 2, WW 2 etc which got higher cinemascore (and definitely better than BvS which also got B) but they set the bar so high people were bound to be disappointed. Their ridiculous marketing approach did them in in the end. 3
Arcadius Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Oh these scores and box office numbers are a disaster. The fact some analysts are saying it might not even hit $300M. But again, WB brought it to themselves, at this rate they should've just taken a tax right off for all these remaining DC films. Also, I wouldn't be shocked now if WB gets sold to Comcast next year, they literally put all their eggs in this one movie and it bombed disastrously. 1
enchanted0 Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I know you can't trust the initial reaction from insiders especially for superhero movies but the reaction was overwhelmingly positive like I expected it would be like almost semi-Dark Knight level....all of those noise for B cinemascore 1
