I actually find 80% of shrines to be super underwhelming but the rest is iconic - Jenga, the one with car and constructs, death roombas. Don't remember anything like that in BOTW.

Ah yeah the jenga one was fun. Wish we had more novelty shrines like that.

I couldn't figure out the jenga one and got lucky when the ball just happened to drop on my platform :biblionny:

This game is so MASSIVE!  I just started the labyrinths this week.  Got 6/9 completed.  Then I got distracted by 8 other things in the process and haven't attempted the last 3 labyrinths yet.

I feel like it will take 600 hours to finish everything.

I just completed my 3rd dungeon (Gerudo one) and want to post my thoughts about it.

First, I have finished 2 dungeons. Rito and Zora. The Rito one was a bit disappointing (especially as a first dungeon, I was expecting something bigger and better after six years of wait) but not necessarily bad. It's mid. The Zora dungeon is in my opinion... the worst dungeon of the entire The Legend Of Zelda franchise. An absolute disaster from A to Z (though I liked the Boss) and eventhough there are dungeons that I like more than others, I think it might be the very first time that I find a dungeon in Zelda... truly bad.

Anyway. This will contain some spoilers so please, avoid reading if you haven't done the Gerudo dungeon ! :bird:

I will start by saying that from what I have seen so far, the desert and the areas around felt different enough to make me feel a little bit lost at times, which is probably a first in Tears Of The Kingdom (finally !).

The atmosphere in the desert and in Gerudo Town felt apocalyptical. I am extremely happy that they added undead in the game and this region as they're probably the most iconic ennemis to me, I just LOVE them and they're so funny. Unfortunately, they're extremely weak lol. I was pleasantly surprised to see a second town right under the one we know. The Rito and Zora towns were identical and disappointing.

I enjoyed the quest to reach the dungeon. It actually makes you feel useful. The part in Gerudo Town kinda was like a The Walking Dead invasion lmao. Eventhough everything is casualised for the general public, it was fun and unique.

The dungeon itself:

When you're in front of it, you're like "Now, that's a f****** dungeon !". It's very exciting and much more impressive than the mess that served as a Zora dungeon.

The little introduction before entering the dungeon was so great.

The music and atmosphere in it is everything I was expecting. It's dark, scary, it has some traps. The design in it is great. The progression felt more linear and the environnement was less open, for the best. It works perfectly and much better than in the previous dungeons. I loved the structure. The ennemies were harder in it. It's probably because of my progression in the game though. The enigmas were finally great, effective and appropriate for the place. Riju's ability is useful in many ways even if it is optional.

I unfortunately got spoiled for the Boss' name so I obviously had an idea even before meeting it but the its design is amazing, the whole concept is amazing and the fight was amazing too. Rito's and Zora's bosses never ever hit me while this one honestly slapped me in the face a few times lol.

In conclusion, I am very satisfied with the dungeon and everything I've done today. It's for the moment the best dungeon in TOTK. It's much better than anything in BOTW too and it's even on par with many classic Zelda dungeons to me. Finally something that I really enjoyed !

I finally got the Zonaite Armor and plan to fly around on a device finding lightroots in the depths.

Certainly had to use a youtube guide to get the armor bc finding all that stuff on my own would be impossible.  Sometimes, things are hidden way too well in this game.

I have 16 shrines left to find and I am losing motivation. I haven’t looked anything up and I don’t want to start now.
I guess most of them will be in the sky, but I’ve explored most of the sky already. I just want to find them all before the last boss

just finished the "Fire Temple", what the hell? i looooved it

i'd say it's on par with the "Temple of Lightning" but it took me longer this time around which left me satisfied. i don't get the criticism, did everyone just "ascend" and use zonai devices all over the place and that's why they disappointed? because the puzzles in this one were great.

I only used the rail carts from start to finish and it was so fun. also loved fighting the many level 4 constructs while riding the carts. gave me indiana jones vibes.

that explains why there was only level IV  constructs in the "Fire Temple" when it's just my 2nd temple ...

also I've fought so many Lynels and i encountered only 1 red Lynel, it seems like they all disappeared from the game so I'm screwed to upgrade my "Barbarian armor".

Sometimes I wish the game would lock some quests until the story progressed to some point because

Spoiler

it feels hella anti-climatic when you finish the Phantom Ganon fight in Hyrule Castle then return to Purah only for her to say "oh you already found the sixth sage, oh you got the master sword too and you know where Ganondorf is hiding? well then continue" and see all these quests appear on your screen only for them to be marked as solved right after :deadbanana2:

I guess spoiler for depths exploration if that matters to you, but you can probably get a guaranteed fight with a regular lynel

Spoiler

In the Floating Coliseum in the depths, which is under the Great Plateau North Chasm. I'm pretty sure the types will stay the same there, and the first battle is against a Red Lynel.

Outside Lookout Landing, in the direction of Hyrule Castle, there should be a construct where u can trade those pyramid orbs for something.

Why is this game sooo massive lmao, constantly running around. I am loving it though but constantly feel dumb. IDK what to do with the damn ring ruins in Kakariko Village, I can't get it started lmao.

Contructs in a cave? Not particularly. There are hundreds of caves

I know there are some contrusts & yiga stuff underground.

And there are a couple caves with yiga banners iirc.

same I've done everything that is to be done in the Karariko area from A to Z but those damn "ring ruins" are still locked

something did happen in Lookout Landing after I did 2 temples out of 4 which led me back to Karariko but it still didn't unlock that thing. which means that Paya and Tauro are still useless, they're still part of no quest or gave me any quest.

- the 4th dragon tear slaps, things are finally kickin in :duca:

i think it's cool that even if you don't take a picture of the order at the "forgotten temple", when you go talk to "Impa" at the main towns she's there to guide you to the next dragon tear in the correct order.

- also I don't know about y'all but I love taking the "real" companion with me to explore their entire area (shrines, caves and quests) before doing the temple. I did it as an experimentation with Riju once we teamed up, just to see how far I could go and it worked. the only drawback is that when you fast travel she resets and you have to get her again but she really follows you everywhere. I did the entire Eldin area with Yunobo and it was even more fun, I didn't need to fast travel once, it was super smooth. and honestly caves exploration with Yunobo is where it's at.

it really gives the game another dimension to have them by your side.

now here's where things go wrong.

you best believe when you beat the boss of the area and they turn into those creepy ass blue demon and stalking me everywhere, I just disable that **** off swiftly. they can stay gone, I don't need you.
