I have played around 20 hours so far and feel like I have not done anything. That's all I needed. There are many amazing surprises so far. I just reached the Rito Village (haven't visisted it yet) but the atmosphere here is INCREDIBLE and hearing that new remix of Dragon Roost Island makes me emotional.

I've seen so many people on reddit lately FUMING about this game and BOTW :deadbanana4:

I finally finished the Wind Temple/boss (after googling every puzzle!)

This game is massive!  Will probably take me 200 hours to finish at this point.

I haven't started any of the dungeons yet as I've purely been exploring and unlocking each region of the map and I'm so engrossed in the world. Hyrule looks unrecognizable/somehow new in certain areas.

Ugh for some reason the glitch doesn't work for me... How am I gonna make a living in Hyrule?

You have to be extremely fast with it! Also try pointing your arrow to the sky (it adds an extra 1-2 frames to the animation so it's 'easier' to do it).

They're even more annoying in TotK since it's not possible to freeze them with stasis anymore

I hate fusing random weapons together and they look SO ugly in fused form :biblionny:

But I really love the mechanic for stuff like fusing magical rods with specific elements, fusing the flux construct drops on Zonai swords, basically all arrow fusions, etc. Like when the fusion is by design, it's great, but a lot of the pairings look horrible.

I like the arrow fusions, but all the other weapon fusions are annoying. Especially if I use a good part only to have it break a few moments later. :jonny5:

I’m enjoying the game so far but it seems considerably harder than botw. Also it feels like everywhere is cloudy or foggy…even on a clear day.

I’m sure I will get more into it once I know what I’m doing a bit more but I still feel like it would’ve benefited from a new map, the sky and underground areas aren’t doing it for me as of yet.

Finally cleared my 2nd dungeon after 60 hours in. The frame drops were ******* annoying, I don’t think it ever hit stable 30fps while I was inside. My poor Switch was struggling to get it together :deadbanana2:

The temple itself feels more like a traditional dungeon than the 1st one but it also feels more unoriginal in design :eli: the boss was amazing though :jonny5:

My collector's edition arrived today and I didn't expect the box to be so big. :deadbanana2:

Only a few hours in, been mostly browsing round completing shrines and exploring so far - but already the world feels so much more interesting and alive than Breath of the Wild. Really enjoying it so far.

Guys I got it yesterday as a gift, do you have to play botw before to play this one?

About what tho :rip:

The usual complaints are "I don't feel like BOTW or TOTK are real Zelda games" (because of the different approach to puzzles and dungeons) or "I don't like the weapon durability system." Some people moaning about how they didn't like the BOTW story being totally optional and mostly told through flashbacks. It all very much reads as a bunch of people circle jerking about "well I don't think BOTW and TOTK are the best games of all time, so everyone who really likes them is wrong!" Very few of the arguments actually come across as measured and reasonable analyses - then they complain that they're criticized in return for "bringing up the game's flaws." I guess the thing that gets me about these posts is that the "flaws" in question are intentional features, like weapon durability. The game is literally built with that in mind, yet people act like it's the most off-putting video game feature ever.

Anyway, I don't read into them too deeply because like... imagine getting mad that other players and almost all critics like a video game :deadvision:

I've been avoiding this thread for fear of spoilers but I'm at a point in the game where I feel safe to join. Loving the game so far. It's great. I don't think it's impacted me as much as BOTW did when I first turned it on back in 2017 since that was such a big paradigm shift. But the depths, fusion mechanics, and the skylands are all fantastic. There's so much to explore despite the world being so familiar.

My only major complaint is I wish the fused weapons looked better. :rip:

I take tons of (clearly useless, since we're on Switch) screenshots and have to remove my fused rock hammers constantly :toofunny3:

Nnnn cannot blame you for that. :toofunny2:

It would be cool if fusion was more elegant. Like if fused a rock with a rusty sword, have the sword be reinforced with rock so the blade is strong and has a rock appearance rather than just sticking a boulder at the end of a sword.

I know exactly which Dungeon you're talking about here too :rip: it's the only one that feels more traditional, & tanks the performance :rip:
