Is this something genuinely new in terms of how players using PEDs? I'd love to get a better sense of where the sport is at on this, especially after avoiding it for so long. Well, we know Agassi served a silent ban in the 90's as he detailed in his autobiography. Wouldn't surprise me if more top players over the last quarter century on both tours served silent bans that we'll never know about.

Wasn't it rumoured that Henin's sudden (first) retirement was actually a silent ban in disguise.. Don't know if there's any proof of that but it was very weird for her to stop at her peak to then come back only a year and a half later So yea, wouldn't be shocking if that's what both tours did with their top players for years 1

Serious injuries obviously do happen in tennis but some breaks have always seemed suspicious on both tours imo. But a player's demeanour/physique isn't as obvious of a tell as to whether they're doping as we would think imo.
pride4jc1222 Posted Tuesday at 07:07 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:07 PM There is at least 30 years of evidence of the WTA making huge mistakes. The cracks have been there ever since Virginia Slims left the WTA in the mid-90s: https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1995-01-12-mn-19286-story.html
