lmao you know, I saw that everyone was talking about it saw the trailer and decided to take my mom to watch it today at the movies. I was kinda clueless the movie would be this ******* amazing, I just took her bc I thought "well, an older woman that has the same vibe as her, action, she will love it!"

And she really did, we laughed a lot, she even cried (I did too), so cute. This movie is 10/10, a future classic, hope it gets a lot of noms at the Oscar.

Sadly I think this is a movie that should be gatekept. If they don’t get then they just don’t get it. This movie however is transcendental. Easily my favorite film since Interstellar.

Seriously tho  Gonna start gatekeeping the **** out of this movie.

 

Tried watching with my mom last night but she refused to finish it - kept fighting me like "this is ******* weird! I don't like these kind of sci-fi movies, you know that. Why would you think I'd like this?" and then scolding me for turning the volume down/up.

 

It was so ironic; she was being exactly who Evelyn has to learn to not be by the end of the film.

I absolutely loved this film, The last two months have been extraordinarily difficult for me, I've been depressed and burned out. This movie helped me understand my place in the universe and what makes life so important/good. 

 

I laughed I cried and felt so much better after watching it. It really helped me take the steps to start to get out of the hole I was in.

(and yes I watched it with my mother it wasn't so awkward).

Home video release is this week. I'm sure it will do well.  Combined with the $90M+ box office, this film will be a nice money maker for A24.

Grossing a total of $107,122,777 Globally.

The only A24 movie to ever reach 100 Million. This will likely increase with its 2nd theatrical run on July 29th

Took my whole family to see this as a treat when I was visiting. They all loved it, I really hope Michelle Yeoh gets an Oscar for this it's definitely her best performance yet.
