davorincek Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 This movie was PERFECT. Like a mix of Ethernal sunshine and The Matrix and Cloud Atlas and Mr. Nobody. If you loved this movie you will love those too. Such a great movie damn! People who dont like it should stick to Spiderman or something even more stupid
davorincek Posted May 29, 2022 Posted May 29, 2022 To me this is an IQ test kind of like Konstrakta from Eurovision. People who like In corpore sano, would love this movie. Intelectuals if you will.
D/X Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 To be honest the film makes honor to its title, it's hard to describe the mix of emotions after watching this. I laughed, I fall asleep, I cried, I smiled, I cringed. I could describe this as a Pixar live-action but mashed up with over-the-top comedy. It's not the 10/10 film critics are implying, but it's definitely a cute, funny trip. The editing deserves an Oscar though.
truthteller Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 (edited) film of the year its literally EVERYTHING (under a tight budget) it gives you hysterical laughter, cringe, wong kar wai-type of melodrama, suspension, emotions, and existential crisis probably one of the most original films ive ever seen in recent years Edited May 30, 2022 by truthteller
Ibrahim Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 (edited) Finally saw this in a terrible theater and despite those environmental shortcomings, I really loved this movie. There were bits that were played a bit too silly and kinda juvenile for my liking, but the dynamics between the family relationships, assimilating into a new country, and the complexity of the pivotal characters really got me wanting to watch this again in a proper setting. Michelle Yeoh was beyond excellent in this. It's a shame I haven't seen her in roles that utilize her range of emotion but this movie - she went from endearing to comedic to badass to conflicted. I had no idea who Stephanie Hsu was but she had so much charisma. I hope I get to see her in more films. The multiverse aspect was extremely fun but was also a great metaphor for the human condition. BNF91 Posted May 31, 2022 Posted May 31, 2022 Finally an update on overseas numbers: $15.7M So with the US/Canada gross ($57.5M) EEAAO is now at $73.2M worldwide. $26.8M left to $100M.. still in limited release overseas... Is it possible?
Lazuli Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 Just insane. The way I thought this was gonna be an action flick with a batshit crazy and complex multiverse setting, only for it reveal itself as a metaphor for a simple yet moving story about family and life... It's been close to two months since premiere and the cinema was still 3/4 full.
PaloSanto Posted June 1, 2022 Posted June 1, 2022 out next week in my country, they better show it in a nearby theatre cause I'm perchedt for it and I dont wanna just watch online

PaloSanto Posted June 13, 2022 Posted June 13, 2022 Watched this last night and it was even better than I had anticipated. So glad I waited to catch it in a theatre cause the experience was worth the ticket. Incredibly comforting, shockingly funny, visually stunning. I cant wait to rewatch it. Best movie this year so far and probably will end up being movie of the year for me.

It's full of metaphors, but it's not that hard to get. I actually felt that the sillyness was way too over the top for me, and maybe a few minutes less would've helped. A solid 8.5/10 for me.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but I was really thinking I should make my mom watch it until the point Spoiler people were sticking things into their buttholes, that was probably too much

Yes, that part would be a bit uncomfortable. But the overall theme of the movie is about the relationship between mother and child. It made me want to call mine.
Kevin Parker Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 I finally saw it this week and oh my god... I couldn't believe how great it was. Actually at some count I couldn't take it anymore. It's probably my favorite film of all time, but I need to see it again to confirm that. Spectacular.
chiliam Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 This is so worth the hype. It just preniere in my country and it was an experience. The movie just get weirder and wilder, so bizarre. And im surprised there was so many laugh out loud moment. It has everything action, comedy, feel good drama. The acting are so great that i think everyone from the cast deserved Oscar nomination. Michelle win Best actress, komination for the dad, the daugter, even Jamie Lee Curtis small role are funny as hell.
chiliam Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 And my country cencor the dick in the dildo scene. Is the original also has that censor?

Glad that the restriction was relaxed in recent years. The whole theater reaction are so funny. So confused, so shocked and then laugh out loud.
BIAATCH Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 The way i cried during the family scenes. It's crazy how an absurd film has a lot of emotional scenes. I love it
fountain Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 It really is the perfect movie, it has absolutely everything you could want and nails it all, it’s amazing to see it everything come together
