They really should’ve gone a different route for the 2nd film :emofish: The sci-fi thing was not it

isn't he writing another "classic movie trope mixed with slasher movie" thing soon? something with time travel?

Men was so bad. I'm really not a fan of movies that are one big metaphor, and where almost none of the events actually happen. The gaslighting aspect was somewhat interesting, but overall it didn't work for me.

I like it because I literally don't think it's trying to "say" anything :rip: I understand that most people hate it for its commentary but it serves long-form music video to me. Smooth-brained arthouse

We can direct this energy to A Wounded Fawn, though!

I disagree, the metaphors were so in your face sometimes that I find it hard to believe it wasn't trying to say anything. I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

I personally love Men because I really don’t mind movies that paint their metaphors in with broad strokes as long as the filmmaking is good, which it is. But I totally get the criticism.

Has anyone seen Skinamarink? It's playing at my local theater next weekend so I think I might go, very intrigued by it.

I streamed from my bed weeks ago, but I think seeing it in a pitch black auditorium with little to no other audience members (a probable scenario since it's high-key flopping at the box office :skull:) would make for one incredibly immersive viewing experiencé :jonny5:

@The Witch check your local listings!

okay it's time to say that Bones and All it's too long movie which is mostly drama with horror elements, final sequence was fine and few good moments but overall it was BORING and i wasn't satisfied!

Licheraleigh like I simply vibed with the atmosphere and batshit imagery... who cares if the commentary is simplistic when the rest works by itself.
