Smile reminds me of the classic horror movies from the early 2000s, such as The Ring and The Grudge. It was very well done. We need more horror movies like this.

1000% this. :clap3:

Barbarian was every bit as good as i expected it to be! :jonny4: The twists, the dark campy humour, the over-the-top-ness of it all. Truly 2022’s GODligant successor.

I need to watch Pearl before deciding which one takes the crown for this year’s best horror film.

2022 was such an excellent year for horror. So many good movies and still a lot more to watch before year-end.

Smile was decent. A 2022 Ring remake is a cute idea

Giallo was developed in the '60s...unless you meant invented a new sub-standard within an already established genre?

Watched 'Terrifier', the first one, it wasn't a big deal at all, I was expecting more cruel splatter scenes, like somebody pointed out to me in here, the splatter scenes are very camp 80s b movies effects aka very unrealistic, certain scenes even cross 'Scary Movie' level of parody, the acting has been between the most atrocious I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of American television and movies.

It's not all bad, the score was really good, best thing of the movie and also the photography was cute, overall it was watchable, certain ideas-moment were good, I will watch the 2.

I'm surprised this movie only costed 35k, I mean even for a cheap movie like this I would have said it costed more.

Maybe we should have a cute lil 2022 horror rate to see what's really the truth (#1 barbarian confirmed)

I can see @The Witch resorting to 'Anti-Hero' levels of tricks and gimmickry to secure a fraudulent #1 for Pearl.

speaking of.

Bone Tomahawk is pretty underrated in these streets. people don't even realize it's a horror and think it's just a western.

Spoiler

it has a similar scene but with a guy and it's much much more brutal :biblio:

I'm down to do a rate for 2022. A cute little top 20.

We all know Barbarian should win but i think it will be a tight race.

I think we just need to make a list of all the movies released in 2022 and for some of us who didn't see all of them to watch them and for the ranking to be revealed at the end of the month or start of december.

I'm afraid Texas Chainsaw Massacre somehow out-shat Halloween Ends. Almost impressive!
