Doubt it These polarising, risky pieces of art we are talking about from Mr Zombie gain more retrospective acclaim as every year passes. DGGshit's meanwhile? Panned out of the gate in even a time of peak horroptimism.
Companion Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Watched Bodiesx3 in cinemas today and after that ending I feel like I need to watch another movie so watched Pearl at home. I really liked both of the movies. Not the best ones of the year but a solid 6.5 for both. None could beat Black Phone, Smile or even Orphan First Kill. 2022 horror ate.
skankle Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 Yeah 2022 has been a really solid year. A very pleasant surprise!
Artur Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 The way nobody was expecting Smilegend to be successful, can't wait for the continuation The Menu and M3GAN are coming NEXT

Jay L Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 2022 really has been a great year for horror. It had been a rough few years for new horror lol Thank you Barbarian, Pearl, Terrifier 2, X, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Fresh, Nope, Prey, No Escape, Resurrection I'm sure there's a few I'm forgetting but as a horror fan I've been FED this this year
antoine_ Posted November 11, 2022 Posted November 11, 2022 Just watched Speak No Evil and Deadstream 2022 and both were great, this year is peak horror

I think he is clashing with A24 about the final cut since he doesn't want to shorten it but its supposedly over 3 hours long... anyway, Pearl was good. not the girl y'all are making her out to be, but still very solid. I still think X is better though.
Likingstars Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 I almost fell asleep during the first 2/3 of Nope but that ending is absolutely stunning nobody can tell me otherwise.
Repelex Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 Smile was actually great. I was engaged for the whole runtime and the jumpscares were sooo effective. Deserves the payola

Deserves the payola Smile reminds me of the classic horror movies from the early 2000s, such as The Ring and The Grudge. It was very well done. We need more horror movies like this.

SitarHero Posted November 13, 2022 Posted November 13, 2022 WAIT! I finally watched Smile, and while it was pretty cute, I can't BELIEVE what an It Follows rehash it really was! Especially considering some of its most vocal supporters in here. It must sting a little bit, deep down.
