watched Pearl as well.

no words. honestly the creative trance they entered while making these movies is BEYOND. i cant wait for MAXXXINE but honestly this topped X which was already iconic show stopping revolutionary art horror excellence! the fact that she played both parts was so symbolic and stayed with me all year long as an iconic movie moment but oh god…

she is SUCH a great actress that was THEATRE!

the dancing church scene was PEAK CINEMATIC ART. PERIODT.

(when she stepped on the “X” (Factor)” i GAGGED!)

and the monologue back home…no words.

i laughed, i cried, i was disturbed.

the final scene & after Howard’s entrance ended me.

beyond a horror film, an ART FILM.

the fact that the entire movie would've been pretty cute if it were a completely different set of characters... the AUDACITY that script had...

No for real... I didn't expect the gore to be that cute. A shame.

Me posting this while DODGING the Pearl discussion until I'm able to watch it :jonny:

Finished 'Pearl' and y'all have already say anything possible about it, so I really don't have anything else to add but just co-sign, amazing, loved it :clap3:

@mellenthin @Reverse Warholian @Leptine

Yeah no, the Oscars wouldn't dare to nominate this kind of performance, especially when it comes to a woman playing a villain-murder.

They rather nominate and even make win SNL kind of sketch these days.

Terrifier was ok, i guess.

i like the 80's filter/giallo style gore.

the fake fainting and vomiting PR stories tho. :deadbanana4:

the gore was pretty bad and unrealistic (on purpose, i'm assuming)

Terrifier 2 was horrid. I’m not that squeamish (or didn’t think I was) but I got up to that bit and had to turn it off :rip: wasn’t scary just gross. Guess I prefer a bit more subtlety lol

if I read one more "you guys thought this was gross? lmao" tweet I swear to god... people really think its normal to not be grossed out by the extremely brutal and graphic murder of a young woman as if its a flex... seek help!!!

also, its a really, really, REALLY bad movie like... the reviews are confusing me. apart from the effects it looks hideous, the sound is a disaster, the set design is a huge mess, the directing is flat, the acting is awful (even if its on purpose sometimes) etc

its... a bad movie

off topic: I screamed at your Mark Forster avi lmao

Yeah not sure if I'm gonna watch 'Terrifier' if it's that heavy, I mean I'm used to horror and splatters since I was a little, but for example torture porn kind of movies like  'Hostel' or 'Martyrs' are not my cup of Tea, also because those movies situations are very realistic so the whole thing feels so real.

Didn't dare to watch 'The Human Centipede'.

I definitely prefer a camp kind of horror were deaths are less realistic and camp indeed or a subtle movie a la 'Watcher' (that is more psychological thriller than horror).

the gore on Terrifier 2 is very campy though. much more than the first one.

it does go more on the gross kind but it's not realistic, like at all.

for once, the blood is bright red like they used on giallo films.

V/H/S/99 was so bad OMG. is this how low this series has gone? :rip:

also the last segment had the same director/actor as Deadstream. so that alone tells you how bad it is :deadbanana4:

Terrifier 1 & 2.... my god why did I waste my time on these. I knew they would be gory but that was just too much :biblio:
