The thing that bothers me about when evil lurks is

Spoiler

How the little girl was totally safe after being attacked by a dog :biblionana:

Like, throw some blood on her or sumn shite. It killed the shock of that scene :biblionana:

Also, I'm rather desensitized to movie gore from decades of exposure but am 4 months pregnant atm and feeling a tad more sensitive. Just HOW graphic is it?

Like I wouldn't watch any of the Terrifier movies, but a notch below that is still probably cool.

:deadbanana4:

Oh sis there's a scene with a pregnant woman there... :deadbanana4:

But yeah I wouldn't say it's as brutal as the Terrifier movies.

Anything with the kids I didn't enjoy tbh. Like the whole final act in the school ground took me out of it a bit. Too confusing

FNAF is so lame :rip:

Posted (edited)

I found When Talent Lurks to be an exceptional take on the possession subgenre that fearlessly explores new territory. It boasts impressive production quality which was something I felt was holding Terrified back a bit. The performances were solid, and there were particular graphic scenes in the movie that left such a vivid impression that they'll stay with me for some time :rip:

The middle did sag somewhat due to the inconsistent ~rules~ within the storyline. The musical score also could have been improved. Rihgardless, I still remained engrossed throughout!

One of the best horror films of the decade, and easily my #1 this year so far. I'll be keeping a close watch on Demian Rugna after this back-to-back Argentine excellence. David Gorda Gringo has GOT to be seething rn!

Watched FNAF.

The first hour I didn't think it was that bad for a horror film based on a game aimed at children 10-14. It's kind of what you'd expect. Then the last hour came and it just went off rails like

Spoiler

they become bff with those animatronics and have sleep over with them ? :deadbanana2: The climax was funny as hell too, we all laughed.

Also the plot is overcomplicated imo, but I don't know if it's because they tried to shoehorn a bunch of plot lines from the games into one film. Maybe if you're a fan of the games you'd be happy, but if you don't know anything about this franchise, or you expect this pg-13 horror film for kids to be scary and have gory kills for some reason, skip this :cm:

Yeah, I had considered watching Five Nights at Freddy’s, but I will replace its slot with When Evil Lurks and Saw X instead, which I have been planning on watching anyway. I have also never been involved with the games it is based upon, so I probably wouldn’t find myself vibing with it.
