Katamari Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 https://gamerant.com/pokemon-fan-redesigns-dragonite-looks-like-dratini-dragonair/ i cant believe someone an article over this tragic design the fact ppl actually prefer it
Magickarp Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 My "unconventional" Rain team. Beartic & Overqwil did a lot, but arguably did the least of the 6 Jellicent was disgusting, MVP Parasect had its moments, but was 75% a Spore Sasher (which is VERY useful) Oricorio surprised me It did more than a Zapdos would've. I kept hating how useless Dancer was but LMAO it had the highlight of my whole run. After setting up Quivers on Champion Gary, i thought his Scarf Ditto was gonna sweep me, but Revelation Dance proc'd Dancer & i double attacked him
Better Mistakes Posted August 13, 2022 Posted August 13, 2022 one thing i do love about sw/sh is how easy it's been to get into competitive training etc. compared to the early gens. I've never meticulously crafted a team as much as i have my sw team. Behold, my magnificent pokemon! Gardevoir was booted for haxorus after not really doing much tbh. Open to suggests for a haxorus replacement, though I might start to craft a dragon/ dragon like team.
Dark Miracles Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 4 hours of searching for the 1% SOS call Politoed in Malie Garden and about to give up
Magickarp Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Khu: 45 New Lines (Idk if RFakes are inc, & at least 6 are Legends) 5 Cross Evos 16 Paradoxes (14 if cut for DLC) G1: 75 - 80 (inc Legends) G2: 63 - 69 (inc Legends) G3: 69 - 79 (inc Legends) G4: 60 - 73 (inc Legends) G5: 69 - 82 (inc Legends) G6: 32 - 38 (inc Legends) - 16 Megas (ORAS not inc) G7: 35 - 41 (inc Legends) - 8 UBs - 10 Regionals G8: 44 - 47 (inc Legends) - 24 GMax - 10 Regionals Coin mon will be hard to obtain, & be like PLA Spiritomb Fakes/Memes make more sense than the Convergents, he says the Dex jokes about them, & makes fun of trainers who catch them "RFake jelly is edible and delicious, even being ingredients of Paldea cuisines." likely references becoming a Mushroom. Also @Rith u might've been right earlier people are now saying Kirlia, over Gallade I could've sworn Kaka confirmed Gallade, & Khu saying Gallade with pigtails
Cruel Summer Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I only ever hear about Radical Red from posts by Ms @Magickarp but I think I’m slowly getting convinced to try it out Maybe it’ll get me more into the idea of participating in Scarlet and Violet.

Also prevented it from using Perish Song just in time with a Taunt good lord

queenp Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 But I guess is still make sense since in the games the champion is defeated by a 10 old kid with not much experience
Magickarp Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 Not many 3 Stagers this Gen, Kalos' neighbor indeed List has 105 mons, but does not include Regionals, 89 if u don't count Paradoxes(Megas, Gigas) TBD = Suicune & Virizion E = Cross Evos SV = KoraiMirai, & i assume the 4 spots before are the "Tapus" Also Worlds is on the 18th, & last time we got Neutralizing Gas, Mirror Armor, etc revealed there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaF9iJ9bzUM @Cruel Summer cuz i spam it if u enjoy a competitive focused game with a massive dex, u should give it a try. That said, were u not intending on playing SV? what was your last pkmn game?
FOCK Posted August 15, 2022 Posted August 15, 2022 I think 70-80 is the typical number of “new” mons we’ll always be getting moving forward. I’m not mad. I’d rather a smaller crop of well thought out & purposeful designs, than mons that just exist for the sake of existing. I wouldn’t even mind a gen with only a handful of new mons & a focus on new forms of existing ones, if it meant they could invest more time in elevating their production, story & graphical capabilities.

That said, were u not intending on playing SV? what was your last pkmn game? I’m in a weird space right now. I played Legends, and it was my favorite game in the series in literally decades - since Emerald, at least, and in my top three with that and Crystal. Even coming off that, though, SV for some reason has inspired zero excitement for me, which is super weird - it’s not like my last experience with the series was bad. I’ve bought every prior game in the main series on release day. What I’ve found myself wanting to play more of lately is Gen 2, as my favorite and first generation, and Gen 3, mostly Emerald. A huge part of the appeal in Emerald for me has always been the Battle Frontier due to the challenge of it, and I’m wondering if Radical Red might be right for me since it’s using Gen 3 assets (albeit Fire Red aesthetics and region, of course) and at its heart is a difficulty hack with a huge updated Pokédex. It sounds like it’s relatively long, and it basically accomplishes one of the things I’ve always wanted from the series: a real challenge mode. I recently ordered myself a neat little handheld ROM machine for games like the GBC and GBA versions, so I’ve also got a cool nostalgic way to play if I try out Radical Red.

Length wise Radical Red is the same as Fire Red. It's mostly the same story. U could also give Drayano's Renegade Platinum try, or wait for Sacred Gold/Storm Silver 2.0. His hacks pretty much inspired RR. Same story, higher difficulty Or since u said Emerald is your fave, check out Inclement Emerald it's built on the same engine as RR https://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=457039 RR is the most difficult + most QOL improvements. Due to Dray's hacks age + NDS based there's lesser QOL improvements. RP trainer teams are more "thematic" tho. RR's creator said he called it "Radical" cuz the teams can be a nonsensical. IE is in the middle of the 2 in terms of QOL & Difficulty

This should give me plenty to try out for a while.
