Album Leak Posted June 5 Posted June 5 (edited) I started a playthrough of LeafGreen because I always defaulted to FireRed without knowing why, well now I know. These version exclusives are such ass oh my god. At least I'll be getting a Slowpoke this run... but like no wonder I'm having such a hard time building a main team when some of my favorites are missing Edit: No way! I found a shiny Slowpoke while doing the boulder puzzle in the Seafoam cave! I think this is my first legit shiny that I caught in the wild and not breeding Though I think this'd be more special if I wasn't playing on an emulator Still, I know who I'm taking to face the Elite 4 and the champion! Suilen Posted June 7 Posted June 7 This is what I have in mind for the Gen 7 rate: No 11s and 0s, but you get 9 Poke Balls: one Master Ball (boosts the score x5), two Great Balls and Ultra Balls (boost the scores x1.5 and x2, respectively), two Beast Balls (boosts the score of an Ultra Beast x2.5 OR has the multiplier of 0.5 if used on other mons, basically, you can hand out two 0.5s if you feel like it), one Net Ball (x3.5 for Bug and Water types) and one Fast Ball (x4 for Lycanroc, Marshadow, Minior, Necrozma, Ribombee, Tapu Koko or Zeraora). Only the Master Ball and the Beast Balls will work on Ultra Beasts. You don't have to use all of them or any of them for that matter, but the more people take advantage of the system, the better. I also adjusted the multipliers a bit as using x5 for the Beast Balls might lead to the top 10 being dominated by Ultra Beasts, so x2.5 works better. And x255 for the Master Ball will obviously be too much. Thoughts? 1

Whoa, those are some serious score boosts This sounds a little complicated, but it would definitely make the final results more interesting
Katamari Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Say what you will about the games but one good thing gen 6 did was making the exp grind post game more dynamic that cafe le nah place letting you raise 3 Pokemon at once and gain items to sell for thousands for pd not to mention the battle chateau with its constantly revolving door of high level trainers with tons of cash and lv65+ mons dpp is a real grind but I think I kind of cracked the code of making the most of the vs seeker but I do wish gf made two areas within 100 steps of each other with at least 4-6 trainers on one screen at least black tower and white tree hollow was another really good one too The battle cafe or whatever ever platinum has only having a max of 4 trainers any given day is a mess and if it wasn't for my AR exp codes I do wonder how long it would take to raise 6 Pokemon to 100
Suilen Posted June 8 Posted June 8 7 hours ago, Curaga said: Whoa, those are some serious score boosts This sounds a little complicated, but it would definitely make the final results more interesting That should ideally prevent ties/close entries, and the winner will have to be extra boosted by the participants to get there, but the score of 50 (10 x5) does sound like too much, so I'll probably tweak those a bit (or come up with some extra rules) before the rate actually happens.

Will be participating/commenthing anyway, no matter the format. 1
Europe Posted June 8 Posted June 8 That seems rather complicated but it's your rate so go for it if you want 2

You should definitely host it and use your own rules 1
Katamari Posted June 8 Posted June 8 (edited) i caved an used the quick hatch ar code oh my god what a god send playing gen 4 competitively with no action replay is a hot mess. gen v and on had pass powers to help out but gen 4 is the worst grind i think of the first 4 and that's saying something because i did gen 3 with no action replay, pokegen, and for most of it without emerald abilities anyways got my frisk shuppet and stantler. bought to put butterfree out a job Edited June 8 by Katamari
BambiStar Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I'm really sorry for the delay you guys. Was a lot busier this week than anticipated, but ALSO I was planning on actually serving a little bit with visuals (big mistake). Nothing crazy, just revisiting my pixel art days and do a little Gen 3 sprite graphics moment. Forgot, however, that every free Paint program made for Macs are compete garbordor Several downloads and botched attempts later and it's not working out. I can start Gen 3 Rate very soon (tonight or tomorrow) but we're back to Dollar Tree budget. Sincerely apologize for wasting everyone's time 6 2 1

Heldenzeit Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Alpha Sapphire Team update I now remember why I always dreaded playing these games... There's just so many boring Pokemon on these early routes, makes you lose interest before you even get started. 3 1

You choose a TERRIBLE team yourself 1 1

Where is your Shedinja But I generally agree, though newer generations definitely have fixed this by giving you a bigger pool of pokemon early on.

Graves Posted June 9 Posted June 9 White 2 squad. Got 3 badges and restin in Nimbasa City. I been using the fanmade Wi-fi servers to do GTS trades to try and pump up my Join Avenue... so many cool features in these old games are lost to time The other slots are filled by Mareep, just for Thunder Waving, and this Sigilyph I got but... am kinda likin' him. Might get the full-time promotion 4
