The problem is that the physical changes to Pokémon appearances did not apply to anything else. While I’d love for b/n to do the BW remakes, I don’t want a repeat of BDSP where there was nothing new aside from updated graphics. Idk why TPC hasn’t realized that a remake needs to have new features. The best remakes were FR/LG, HGSS, and ORAS because they all had new features and areas that weren’t a part of the originals. Sure - ORAS would have greatly benefitted from the emerald enhancements but they did at least have other additions that were not in the originals. BDSP we’re the laziest remakes we’ve gotten (and yes I’m including LGPE). Not including newer Pokémon, regional variants, new evolutions, or any of the gimmicks (these games could have benefited so much from mega evolution or even gigantamax forms) just shows how out of touch they are with their core fan base. For those of us who played the originals - the main buyers of the remakes - we want to experience the story in a different way. Using different Pokémon, adding gimmicks, and/or adding additional storylines would help keep the story fresh and enticing. Simply having games that function at a reasonable performance level isn’t enough. Part of the reason that HGSS are some of the best games they’ve released is because while they ARE remakes, they included all the storylines of Crystal and also added in new forms, new areas, and new pokemon (relative to the remakes). I still think TPC/gamefreak need to add an update to S/S and BDSP that allows the remaining pokemon to be used. It’s the only reason that BDSP at least would have replay value. Small Indie studio, with 0 communication within their small staff A feature that is also a paid solution, to a problem they wanted to create. A feature where they can not release anything & still make money.
