Maybe this is just a personal thing, but my struggle with the Thai dramas, is that most of them don't have much re-watch value. Sure they are entertaining but there's no incentive to go back and watch them again.

 

The one exception I've watched is 1000 Stars, which is probably one of the best Thai show's I've watched and I have re-watched it. (I guess I also have re-watched MSP too). 

 

Otherwise I find I watch a show and just kind of cross it off a list and never look back.

Because they have very simple romance stories and cheap production values. There is nothing much to be gained by rewatching, but some that gave me a bit of butterflies (like Only Boo!) i do rewatch certain scenes again.

Speaking of Only Boo I should pick that up again, I've only watched about 4 or so episodes. The scene with the Tik tok bullies basically kidnapping Moo to show off their dance moves cause of his mom was just….

GMMTV has updated the Hallmark business plan for a new century, by putting the shows for free on the most accessible platform, and turning their actors into idols that they use to milk fans with fan-meets and merchandise and followers on social media for them to get ad deals.

 

Only Boo is so good, because Keen is very charismatic and talented, otherwise it's your run-of-the-mill high school BL.

only boo seemed like every other gmmtv show at first, childish and lowkey cringe, but it turned out to be one of the best gmmtv show in recent years

ep1 to ep7 or 8 has immaculate run, it flows really well without a single miss. you need to pick it up

To be fair, GMMTV kind of caters to a younger generation whereas Hallmark to an older, and fan-meets (other than at cons) isn't much of a thing in North America. We did a case study on Hallmark when I was in school in how a company can literally churn out 100 of the same movie, with essentially the same 5 actors and people eat them up each time. I ain't gonna complain cause Hallmark is the reason I'm getting employment on film sets here. 

 

Also I'mma need the Thai productions to get better sound departments, as the sound editing is rather rough in many Thai shows. (Do they even know what a boom mic or even know that ADR is a thing...)

 

I found the leads to have decent chemistry in Only Boo but its kinda cringy at times so that's why I stopped a few episodes in. Maybe I'll pick it up. again.

If I had remembered correctly, in Ep 1 / 2, both Arm (Book) and Sand (Poon) were making remarks about pretty girls and they were even checking out one of the girls. (Which itself is quite amusing, because both Book and Poon IRL have severe gayface. There was also one scene in the dorm room where Sand screamed like a phag, so I found it hard to believe these characters were straight initially.)

 

These BLs aren't really realistic, because they don't really show the inner torment guys may have when they start to question their own sexuality. 

 

On the other hand, it would nice to have an unabashedly pansexual character in these BLs/GLs and making out with anyone of legal age. Think Boston, but the pansexual version.

Kay Lertsittichai. So far, since 2019, he has only appeared in het roles in het/bromance shows like Home School, F4, Wednesday Club and High School Frenemy. Unlike JJ, who plays het roles in BLs, Kay amazingly has not done a single BL so far. He will finally appear in the BounPrem vampire BL Revamp and the new PerthSanta BL Love You Teacher, but his roles are unknown.

 

He graduated with a degree in math (actuarial science), so he's hella smart, that I know. He's also 1.7m (5' 7") so height-wise, maybe he gets overlooked, but he would make a cute bottom or a cute top if paired with another short guy like Lego and Gun. He's so fine and can act well, but he's unfortunately not prioritized.
