Pond P has one #2 mention, while Bright R has two #3 mentions. So I break the tie (in favor of Pond) by looking at the highest rank each actor received. If the ranks are exactly the same, like Andy Bian and Kwon Hyuk who each got one #4 vote, one #19 vote and one #28 vote, then I declare them to have the same overall rank (#41 in this case).
Genius1111 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 #10 to #6 tomorrow, I guess. Remember that I am still accepting votes for the induction into the BL HOF! Please send in if you wish!

Genius1111 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Top 10 breakdown by country of origin Thailand - 7 (70%), of which 5 are in GMMTV South Korea - 3 (30%) I think the 7 Thai actors are pretty easy to guess, but who do you think are the 3 KBL actors?

Genius1111 Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 (edited) The theme this year is truly "out with the old, in with the new". Every single actor in the top 10 last year has failed to stay in the top 10, and only 2 managed to stay within the top 20 (or 50, for that matter). Among last year's top 20, 19 of them tumbled down the charts, while two actors scored 0 points each. Tul/Tyler Pakorn went #16-OUT, while Kang Yoo-seok went #11-OUT. Only 1 actor in last year's top 20 managed to improve and leap into the top 10. We shall see whether he makes it into the top 5, but FIRST, let's see what has happened to last year's top 10. This year's Rank Last Year's Rank Movement Points Mentions Name 71 1 ↓70 27 1 Nanon Korapat Kirdpan 55 2 ↓53 36 3 Ohm Pawat Chittsawangdee 11 3 ↓8 81 4 Gun Attaphan Phunsawaat 17 4 ↓13 73 3 Son Woo Hyun / Son Woo Hyeon 117 5 ↓112 13 1 Park Seo Ham (Park Gyung Bok) 68 6 ↓62 28 3 Tay Tawan Vihokratana 56 7 ↓49 35 3 Apo Nattawin Wattanagitiphat 24 8 ↓16 64 3 Kokoy De Santos 67 9 ↓58 29 2 Off Jumpol Adulkittiporn 83 10 ↓73 22 2 PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn In particular, both Parks from Semantic Error have crashed out of the top 100 after finishing in the top 15 last year. DanyelP23 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Once BLAmmys come around, y'all better not forget the immensely talented and ELIGIBLE Komiya Rio in Best Actor, as well as Eternal Yesterday for Best Series He served one of the most griping, vulnerable but yet intense performances of last year The talent jumped out, and he deserved a spot in the top20 in BL King, but certain people here are tasteless, poor (to not afford Viki) or lazy to not go on k1sskh to watch japanese shows 1
Katamari Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) I hate to admit it but that lady who dragged FlukeOhm might have been right in the end because they are thriving with actual well written bls while separate at least they have UWMA and have not acted in a La Mame script which is is hard to get not everyone has that Edited December 6, 2023 by Katamari

Genius1111 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 #10 Im Ji Sub / Lim Ji Sub Country: South Korea Shows: The Eighth Sense Last Year's Rank: N/A Movement: ★ Mentions: 4 Points: 84 dabunique - 11 fais_2311 - 20 (My favorite K-BL this year is definitely The Eighth Sense and he looks so good in that.) elevate - 29 Gottasadae - 24 Ji Sub is the first of 3 KBL actors to feature in this year's top 10. All credits to him; there's a very good reason why BL watchers round the world proudly declare The Eighth Sense as the best KBL of 2023. 1
Genius1111 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 #09 Nonkul Chanon Santinatornkul Country: Thailand Shows: I Feel You Linger in the Air Last Year's Rank: N/A Movement: ★ Mentions: 4 Points: 87 DanyelP23 - 19 Nebur - 35 pearlmercury - 25 elevate - 8 Nonkul is no stranger to acting in LGBT+ shows and movies. It was in 2014 when he appeared in a gay romance flick Love's Coming and Bang Rak Soi 9/1 (a queerbaity show, I heard) alongside the beautiful Tongtong Kitsakorn (who played the straight brother in Khun Chai). Nonkul has outdone his ship partner by 7 points. Again, the numbers are not on Nonkul's side (despite the glowing reviews that IFYLITA has garnered) and he could not enter the top 5 despite an absolutely sterling performance as Jom. 2
Genius1111 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 #08 Moon Ji Yong Country: South Korea Shows: The New Employee Last Year's Rank: N/A Movement: ★ Mentions: 4 Points: 91 pearlmercury - 24 northwest - 25 Jonginbey - 29 Katamari - 13 Ji Yong plays the titular employee in a show that was widely regarded as the best office-themed BL of 2023. Despite being a mere 7 episodes of approximately 20 minutes each, it was sufficient for Ji Yong to captivate the audience and land himself in the top 8. 2
Genius1111 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 #07 Fluke Pusit Dittapisit Country: Thailand Shows: The Warp Effect, Enchante, The Shipper***, A Boss and a Babe, My Precious*** Last Year's Rank: DNC Movement: ★ Mentions: 4 Points: 97 DanyelP23 - 29 Nebur - 29 northwest - 18 Genius1111 - 21 What a year it has been for Fluke Pussyt! In 2023, we see him kiss the #50-placed Thor and 0-pointer Newwie in The Warp Effect, cute Ohm in A Boss and a Babe and the #71-placed Nanon in My Precious (though both guys were playing straight characters, but hey, GMMTV's scripts seem to like to incorporate homo content). His absolutely outstanding performance as Army in The Warp Effect has outshone the real male lead (i.e. Newwie) has earned him much-deserved praise. However, all good things must come to an end, and it seems to be ending too abruptly for the Fluke. With no confirmed prominent roles in 2024's Part 1 line-up, and probably the same for Part 2, it is perhaps the end of the road for this stellar 26-year-old. It would be a huge waste if his contract were to end very soon. What's interesting is that Pussyt is not even the highest ranked Fluke born on Aug 08 1997. Hmm... 1

Genius1111 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) #06 Son Hyun Woo Country: South Korea Shows: Sing My Crush Last Year's Rank: N/A Movement: ★ Mentions: 4 Points: 100 Nebur - 21 pearlmercury - 29 northwest - 19 Jonginbey - 31 I'll be honest, I really wasn't expecting one of the actors from Sing My Crush to end up being the highest ranked KBL actor. SMC seemed like a not-really-high-profile show that went slightly under the radar. But an achievement is an achievement, and he is the best of the rest that's not from Thailand, and the only non-Thai actor to score at least 100 points. And not everyone can claim that.
