Genius1111 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 GeminiFourth referencing He's Coming To Me, SatangWinny referencing FAD Buddy and MarkFord referencing 1000 Stars. Yeah, Mark looks too young to pull off what Earth did, if you judge purely on looks.
Genius1111 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Hoping Be My Favorite will slay like The Warp Effect. I've been eyeing those 2 shows since mid last year. AouBoom will be making their debut soon.

If you meant japanese show it was "Me, My Husband and My Husband's Boyfriend". Other show with throuple that I know off is Thailand's 3 Will Be Free, from 2019. As to why the main character of Our Dining Room Table looks so familiar, that's BLAmmy BL King snubee, legend Inukai Atsuhiro, previously in Kei x Yaku and A man who defies the world of BL 1 and 2!

Genius1111 Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 https://www.kpopmap.com/kpopmap-bl-survey-report-what-korean-bl-need-to-improve-according-to-global-fans-part-2/ Quote You need more actors that actually have chemistry and are open to doing scenes that are common in straight/hetero dramas but when it’s an LGBTQ+ series they aren’t open to it. Example: kissing. Make K-BL dramas make the camera be a certain angle so the actors pretend they’re kissing but they’re not. If you hire an actor, make sure he is open and professional enough to do the scenes your drama demands. The audience can tell when the actors are not actually kissing or when they are kissing but they’re clearly not comfortable with it. I don’t even understand why those actors sign the contract to do LGBTQ+ series if they know they won’t commit to their literal job which is the bare minimum: giving a decent kiss. We’re watching a romance, so the bare minimum is a decent kiss where the actors at least open and move their mouths. Other countries (like Thailand for example) are considered better than Korea when it comes to BLs because of this, they actually do chemistry reads with the actors before they hire them, and they make them kiss to see if they’re actually comfortable with each other. You can’t hire actors for their looks or because they’re famous if they aren’t committed and are uncomfortable kissing another man. The audience sees it and feels it, doesn’t matter how good the directing is, it can’t turn a bad kiss into a good kiss, that’s the actor’s job. This is sad because sometimes the series is good, but then it gets to the kiss part and everyone sees they’re not comfortable and barely kiss and many people stop watching the drama for that reason, even though the story is good. So my advice would be: Before hiring actors, doesn’t matter if they’re handsome or famous, make them do chemistry tests with each other, make them hug and kiss each other and analyze if they’re comfortable, analyze if they’ll commit to interpreting a gay character. Quote Strength of plot - especially towards the end. Lots of shows have a fantastic premise but then don't know what to do with it. The ending of a show should not be a simple 'gratification', but should be relevant to the characters and plot from the beginning of the show. Writing - some already do it brilliantly ("Our Dating Sim", "The Eighth Sense", and "Where Your Eyes Linger" are good examples). Characters do not blindly state their feelings out loud and do not rely on half-heard conversations and misunderstandings. Things are not spelled out for the audience - you have to empathize with the character and try to understand their words/actions Physical compatibility & comfort - "Our Dating Sim"/ "A First Love Story" shows how much potential there is when actors show realistic intimacy between them. Neither show is long, but both convey far more credibility and emotion than some longer shows by virtue of believing in the characters. Massive passionate scenes are not always needed - smaller everyday interactions (ie. comfortable touching each other, relaxing into a touch) are far more powerful when it comes to conveying an emotion. Too often watching shows I find myself asking "Why are they dating? They clearly don't want to be near each other, they look uncomfortable". "Unintentional Love Story" was one of these - a strong premise slightly spoiled by the main couple's romance not being convincing. The 2nd couple's romance was actually more interesting because they were more comfortable around each other despite having much less time onscreen.
