sadly that ymmd guy got many opportunities after the show, he was one of the main cast in school 2021 and got to work with red velvet's joy in another drama, i suspect he got some connection in the industry :rip: he's basically a nobody but still got many lead roles after ymmd

And every single one of his projects have been critical and commercial FLOPS! Is anyone even watching that irrelevant Oasis garbage? NO!

Meanwhile kingie Taemin is slated for many projects that seem to be secured hits, his latest Queenmaker did that!

I am reading the criticisms on the MDL page for Our Skyy 2 and I agree with a lot of them.

 The Eclipse

Quote

Thank you!!! They did completely destroy Aye's character; but since I hadn't seen any comments about that, I was starting to second guess that maybe I was being too harsh. But fr, IMO by the end of the Eclipse the only character that they didn't ruin beyond repair was Ayan (and maybe Akk) but with their two episodes of OS2 they were like oops oh yeah we missed a spot and then came for Aye and AyanAkk's previously healthy relationship

Quote

The good thing is, if this is how their relationship turns out to be after a few weeks, they both will be single and free from each other before the end of the first semester at uni 🤣

More seriously, The Eclipse Ayan would never do this. He would never shut down Akk's insecurities, make him sad for weeks for the sake of a "surprise" and turn a blind eye on their potential problems.
He forced Akk to see through his own ****, admit he did wrong, be himself, love himself, etc. He loved to bicker him and make him flustered, but it was never cruel.
Our Skyy Ayan is an *******.

Quote

Exactly, the Eclipse's Ayan would've listened to Akk's concerns, validated them and comforted him while working together to find a solution, not this mean, toxic and yes cruel juvenile ****. I couldn't take the episodes seriously because he was being so out of character and dismissive and inconsiderate of poor sad Akk's feelings. Especially so when Akk worked up the courage to confront him and communicate, trying to work this out and being proactive about their future.
This new Aye was just like "This is how I am, you can't change me but you've gotta keep me if you really love me" rather than the patient partnership that they had in the OG series! And then at the end, in hopes of distracting us from the horrible writing and plot they were like BOOM **sex scene**

They're (AyeAkk) going to need a hell of a lot of conveniently curated short films to keep this relationship afloat with their new trajectory💀

Quote

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at Khan and everybody still treating Thua like a little angel and I can't even try to sympathize with their relationship troubles of Khan being a bit too hands on and Thua saying he's always reasonable but thinks that this'll be too much. The man literally forgave him, when he didn't even apologize and accepted him as a LEGIT TERRORIST and treats him like the most angelic princess lmfao. And I couldn't take Akk's speech to Namo about not being perfect, like yes we all remember what you did even if you regret it?

Quote

I guess we will never know if Akk and Aye ended up deciding to go abroad together for uni lmaoo
I mean, Akk did say that he wasn't going to go and that Aye should go alone but Aye basically brushed it off and said ''we can talk about this later'' and I was waiting

Quote

When KanThua say something like "seize the moment, because the future is uncertain" it hit in a different way because it seems that they are also talking about their ship.

I know OS2 The Eclipse serves as a potential goodbye to NeoLouis, and I love their sweet smooching scenes, but from a story-telling POV, it seriously did not make sense. As mentioned a few months ago, the other guys should have dumped Thuaphu because he caused so much $hit and he went to out Akk & Ayan.

Honestly, I feel that AkkAyan is the only one of the 8 couples that will not be endgame. Shame, because AkkAyan in the original series were much more likeable, even when it took half a season to get past their differences.

AlanGaipa >>> AkkAyan after the airing of OS2.

That was really disappointing. I like the idea of relationship problems, but that was so petty and superficial that I just didn't care. If it weren't a shirtless Neo goldmine I'm not sure I would have stuck with it to the end.

I was lookng foward to this couple.

Quote

I will never understand someone badmouthing someone as nice and easygoing as Louis for not going to gym and getting big like Neo.

Quote

Louis looks like that uncle that never gets laid but always pretending to be happily single. He's that uncle that wears linen that NEVER gets wrinkled!!!!!

Quote

Now every time I see him, I'm gonna have wonderful uncle memories. Girl, my Uncle Louis styling in his ironed Bermuda shorts with matching shoes and belt. After Memorial Day, he be wearing them nylon knee socks and white loafers while popping...all the catheters at the senior center!

tbh i fell asleep in the middle of ep 2 of simm and it’s not worth going back to finish..
the problems i have with it are pretty much the same as everyone else’s.
i really feel no chemistry between joong & dunk.. after watching the warp effect it made me realize joong could have chemistry with anyone by the way he looks at them. but bc of dunk’s acting it completely dragged joong down.
i kind of hope gmm doesn’t keep them paired up for long bc joong has the potential to be great, if they find him the right partner.

Quote

Why are most gmm shows that arent directed but Aof and Jojo so unnatural?

Quote

The difference between these two directors' shows and other directors' shows is so obvious. Not just with acting, but even with plot, chemistry, soundtracks, execution, style, atmosphere, Jojo and P'Aof are so much better. Even P'Nuchy's works are good!

Quote

Dunk’s acting is really not up there. Heck Winny and Satang are stealing those scenes. Dunk seems forced and awkward, and too much use of his dragged “krub”.

Quote

From the start JoongDunk have been the most exposed and promoted. Istg if they had given even 1% of that fanservice to MekMark, they would've been active till now. Mek might've stayed till Our Skyy 2 at least

Quote

I am sorry but Dunk acting is too weak in-front of Joong.

I don't know why Dunk, shakes his head, closes his eyes while saying dialogues. It likes he is forcing acting on him.

Everyone can feel he is not suitable for acting or need acting lessons to continue.

Quote

Dunk is terrible at acting, period. I understand some of the criticism sounds mean, but it’s an industry, and he’s flunking at it hard. He’s a grown man and doesn’t need to be coddled and defended.

His smiles are just plain awkward and insincere. His line delivery is awful. He seems generally uncomfortable in the role, he’s giving zero energy, and he freezes up like it’s killing him inside every time he has to kiss.

It really is a shame Joong got paired with him. He’s so much more talented and it shows. All I can say is I hope he improves.

Quote

It's shameful that GMMTV decided that this "plot" was worth 2 episodes. This story could have been told in 10 minutes, but was stretched out to 2 painfully long and extremely boring episodes only because Kluen spent nearly every second professing his undying love. Even a fairytale prince has more depth and substance than Kluen. Their superficially problem free relationship has as much realism as astroturf or a couple in a stock photo. This was a complete waste of Joong's talent. And as a BL fan, I'm insulted by whatever writer thought fans would want to see this waste of air time.

I'm going to also echo what many others have said about Dunk's "acting". He was BAD in SIMM, but I gave him a slight pass because it was his first series. A year later, he's gotten MUCH worse. I will never understand why the director allowed him to deliver every line while awkwardly moving his head, but it was distracting and only highlighted how poor his line delivery was throughout every scene. OS2 SIMM needed a script and an acting coach to have a small chance to be entertaining tv. Too bad, it had neither.

Quote

I've actually heard that Dunk's mother is a higher up at gmmtv which honestly makes a lot of sense. Especially after I remembered watching an interview where he recalls "when he decided to start acting". It was just a really weird way to phrase it and it wasn't as if it were a translation issue because he said it in english (and his English is perfectly fine). Him deciding to start acting wasn't too too long before he'd booked SIMM.

Quote

What the **** did I just watch?

1. Petition to give Dunk acting class. Let’s start a gofundme page because wtf.

2. Petition to sink this ship. Joong needs a better acting partner.

3. Petition to STOP IT with the straight couple narrative. Wtf again.

I was wondering how Dunk managed to be the lead in two shows/franchises in 2022 and 2023 (Hidden Agenda), but now I think I know.

Daoneau was basically an ATRL member in a BL series going "I'm just a hole, sir" every time he snuggled up with Kabkleun.

Dunk frankly only had on-screen chemistry with Mek, and that was because (1) Mek did the heavy lifting and (2) their illicit half-brother bromance seemed interesting.

Joong was quite good in The Warp Effect. I misjudged him initially.

At least Dunk got a Kazz Award nomination out of all this.

Have to agree. They really dropped the ball with the eclipse. None of it feels canon either :rip:

Lmao Joong was horrible in The Warp Effect, why are the MDL girlies and BLTRLers trying to rewrite history?

However horrible Joong wad in WAP Effect, it wasn’t that bad as Phuwin, who wad downright atrocious.

Men in Warp Effect:

Fluke>Thor>New(great comedic acting, he allowed others to shine in a good way) >Sing (he lacks basic sex appeal which made his character way much of a creepy loser when he cheated on Chiize, but otherwise he was good) = Mark (good, to little screentime) > the hot daddy coach > New and Phuwin annoying dad >>>>>>>>> Joong >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Phuwin

Me tinks you are just bias against joong but that’s okay mama you will see the light soon :giraffe:

that being said his looks are clearly distracting people from his acting cause he’s not amazing. He does the bare minimum honestly but he barely talks in shows so really who knows. WAP effect was like most he ever said in one scene

I see that the NeoMark stan accounts are retweeting this photo, while the NeoLouis stan accounts are dead silent.

I'm looking forward to the NeoMark era. I know the two tops will serve something fun. I'm assuming that Cooking Crush will start filming soon.

Bonus for you...

It's just a roundabout way of saying that he's been single his whole life, despite being a basketball player and a hot actor.

Meanwhile, Nanon straight up said his first love was in kindergarten.

And the unfortunate censoring over there. I pity her.

You can't have a biological son if you can't get a woman first. :eli:

JimmySea killed it with their domestic scenes but the script turned out to be trashy.

It's just fan service + continuation of the Wat film-making arc + a lazy attempt to preserve the social commentary element. I was quite surprised that the writers chose to turn it into a critique of the PC/woke/anti-establishment crowd, and that Ayan lost that "going-against-the-mainstream" vibe he had in the original. Ironically enough, GMMTV was bombarded by the woke crowd later that weekend with all the controversial crap that their actors said/did in the past.

I have not acted in any capacity in probably 20 years, so I don't want to come after anyone on TV for any sort of bad acting. I was initially worried that the quality of The Wap Effect was going to be compromised by Joong's acting, but he surprisingly held up decently amidst a sea of other terrific actors. I could see that he has put in some effort and him acting alongside Gigie was not bad. Obviously he's not the most talented, but I didn't mind seeing more of him in TWE. But with SIMM, SIYH and OS2:SIMM, I kept rolling my eyes.

The true disappointment of TWE was Phuwin, who seemed totally uncomfortable and/or disinterested acting alongside his onscreen girlfriend Chaleeda. Phuwin may not be the most outstanding, but he at least did produce some decent when acting alongside Newwie, Pond, Neo, Drake, Perth T and Chimon. Maybe he's just more comfortable acting with men? Or maybe he's only concerned with NLMG because he's just a minor character in TWE.
