DanyelP23 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 The way I though Honda Kyoya was just a pretty face before getting into Jack O' Frost. He's giving thespian realness worthy of surprise best actor nomination

DanyelP23 Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Jack O'Frost episode 5 was good. Now we need ep 6 to serve some emotional climax, whether it's sad or happy ending.
SODA Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 It's been a while since I've entered this thread… Work as been a bit hectic and I dedicated the little time I had available to finishing Word of Honor and then I started and finished Faraway Wanderers, the novel the drama is based on. The story told in the novel is, in my opinion, very convoluted. At some point, I just gave up trying to make sense of anything or keep up with the never-ending array of characters. I literally just waited for the writer to reveal everything and that was it! Zhou Zishu is quite unlikable in the novel—he never properly warms up to Chanling nor properly accepts Wen Kexing as a lover. Wen Kexing and Gu Xiang were the most faithfully adapted characters from the novel on the drama. The main difference being that Wen Kexing's iconique fan from the drama is non-existent in the novel, and also, his flirtations are generally very sexual in the novel as he continuously tries to have sex with Zhou Zishu (although the latter continuously refuses his advances). The most WTF thing about the novel is that the constant back and forth about the Lapis armor (that's what the translation I read called the drama's Glazed armor) leads absolutely nowhere. Literally! Those who so desperately want the armor end up dying one by one and that's it. Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing don't go into the armor and become immortals like in the show; when everyone who wants the armor is gone, they move on with their lives by moving to Changming mountain with Changling and that's, pretty much, the end of the novel. It was a bit anticlimactic. Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing do end up having sex, but only in one of the extra chapters and ZZ only agrees out of pity for WK. **sigh** I think the drama made the main characters generally more likable, ZZ's and WK's "relationship" less one-sided, and the overall plot was more intelligible (even though I wish both the drama and novel offered a more polished and neatly tied together story). And that is the end of my WoH/FW era!
SODA Posted March 17, 2023 Posted March 17, 2023 Now I can finally move on and watch the last episodes of Never Let Me Go, My School President and continue watching Moonlight Chicken. And then, I'll find me a currently-airing BL that I like, so I can have something to look forward to every week.

Further reason for him to be nominated for the 2023 BL Hall of Fame King!

Genius1111 Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 (edited) I mean, I love High five bros BrightWin content, but this was corny. Their half-hug is basically the 2023 update of their high-five. As mentioned in the Reddit thread, maybe GMM is in a "break glass in case of an emergency situation now". The fact that we are more likely to have a proper new series with the 2 Fads boys and not the Fad Buddy boys is interesting to say the least. Edited March 18, 2023 by Genius1111
