This follows the somewhat disappointing Ep 9 of My School President. Will Ep 9 of Never Let Me Go be the same? At this point, besides the traditional curse Ep 11, it seems Ep 9 is also cursed too, because that's when the writing seems to magically fall of the cliff. In addition to the above 2 shows... Bad Buddy - Ep 9 was quite iffy with the crazy gunshot scene (but it was mildly in decline since Ep 6 and 7 with the whole arc with Wai pulling his stunt) Enchante - Ep 9 Part 2 or 3 onwards (but the writing was never strong anyway) I didn’t think it was bad tbh, but not as good as previous episodes. I feel like we should have gotten more of Jedi and Rose in the previous episodes in order to make them solving their issue be more impactful for us the viewers. I also would have loved if Army and Joe would have gotten caught in a location that was not as obvious so that when they inevitably solve their conflict, it highlights that no matter how careful you are, living closeted is not worth it and it is a glass waiting to shatter at any moment. Not gonna lie, in this episode Alex feels kind of there in the background, yes he helps all the characters get what they need but there isn’t anything interesting for him to do. Jean is also a weak leading character, as in she doesn’t seem too interesting. Kat is wasted by the fact that she now only interacts with the same characters; Alex, Jean and maybe her friends once in a bluemoon. I would’ve loved to see her interact more with Army as friends. I loved the Army and Nim scenes though. It was great to see him happy at the possibility of having a baby, while also telling her to not take his delusions into account and do what she thinks is best for herself.
Genius1111 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 NLMG Ep 9 OMG Palm's mum! Best BL mum award goes to her! No question about it. (Sorry Chonlatee's mum)
dabunique Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Ice & Kim Army & Nim Alex & Kat Alex & Jean these scenes i loved also once again i didn't kno Rose is trans
Genius1111 Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 It is as though the general superiority of TWE and the sometimes mediocrity of NLMG swapped this episode, like a body swap plot device. The scene at the rocks was great and the dance they had was a lovely touch. There were a few cringe parts in Ep 9, like Nueng returning home alone without any protection, and him saying that he will manage the business with his mum, who has not woken up yet. PerthChimon's scenes are getting so so much better now. Crisis averted! Unpopular opinion: Phuwin obviously can act well, but he obviously isn't trying his best in Ep 9 of TWE.

Maybe he will appear in 10 BLs at this rate (and he is already 30% there by the end of this year). I hope the grand plot twist in Moonlight C0ck is that in the 2nd half of the show, it will predominantly be FourthGemini, and not the cheating plot. Edited February 7, 2023 by Genius1111

It would be good to have more trans representations in BLs and GLs in any case, because it is currently lacking. In this episode, Alex, Army, See-ew and Nim were discussing the fact that Rose is trans in a very matter-of-factly manner, so it looks like everyone knew it years ago. (Looking back at Ep 1, Rose is already life as a girl.) It is interesting to see that while Army himself admitted to how hard it was when he came out, for Rose, it looked like everyone accepted and treated Rose as a female, without any questions. I would have expected a story arc to show that life was even worse for a trans student, but that's not the case. 3 hours ago, DanyelP23 said: I didn’t think it was bad tbh, but not as good as previous episodes. It was great to see him happy at the possibility of having a baby, while also telling her to not take his delusions into account and do what she thinks is best for herself. Agree with all the points here. 1. The JediRose portion seemed rather superficially done. 2. Alex hardly did anything to "solve" the issues for his friends and the pictures magically changed themselves. Next week, we see issues with the two couples that have gotten back together (ArmyJoe and MollieNim) and I won't be surprised if the pictures flip back to the altered states. 3. I also dislike that the scriptwriters are going to be formulaic and push the AlexJean endgame story, when this show has already been pushing a few boundaries. It would have been so much more interesting to have a KatJean endgame and show two independent women coming together. 4. Alex's actions on Jean during the party would have been considered sexual assault I think, and Jean, understandably, is unable to move on from it. The key to solving this puzzle is for Alex is think about how to truly make up for this. 5. The mystery of who gave Alex the magic polaroid camera is still not resolved. I am going to guess it is either Alex's future self or Jean's future self. 6. I feel like, in spirit, The Warp Effect is GMMTV's The Miracle of Teddy Bear (even though The Eclipse was written by the TMOTB writer). Both shows rely on something fantastical and this is the instrument that is used to bring societal issues to the forefront. I love that TWE continues to show a new taboo issue every week and educates its viewers. (Though sadly, for the most part, the people who watch TWE are people who probably already subscribe to such views, and the show is kind of preaching to the choir, like TMOTB. The older conservative folks who watch lakorns are not the one who would randomly tune in to this show abut young people in taboo situations. They will probably see Newwie as a straight guy playing straight roles in generic "slice of life" straight shows.) Edited February 7, 2023 by Genius1111

northwest Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 My Beautiful Man 2 is keeping the line of the first season. I can't stand Hira with his awkwardness and saying sorry all the time, you just had s*x with your man but you can't look and talk to him like a normal person?

JonginBey Posted February 7, 2023 Author Posted February 7, 2023 Looks like Ep. 10 of MSP is about to set us up for the inevitable disappointment of ep. 11. As for Ep. 9, seeing Sound so vulnerable made for a great watch. Instantly became my favorite character from this series by the end of the episode.
Babymomo Posted February 7, 2023 Posted February 7, 2023 Heesu in class 2 really is a COLLAPSE waiting to happen, TRUST it will set the online world in a way no other BL has Yes Kinnporn exists but that one was too R-rated and was on a platform not watched by many, while heartstopper also exists it was too white ad bland, meanwhile squid became Netflixs most popular show which means audiences are very much welcoming of Korean shows so plus it all together: Kdrama + fluffy + Queer + on Netflix = A generation defining SMASH
